@jcboy,
Set managed to catch the cold I brought home from work.

We'll have cough medicine with our sodas and have a quiet night, interrupted only by coughing fits and a phone call with hamburgboy.

@jcboy,
It’s 11:27 PM. We had a nice dinner in Tampa then came home and took a nap, waiting for the phone call to play taxi tonight.

@ehBeth,
Sucks.. Hope you still had a good night.

We did. But, I came home to Missy, (pomeranian) you commented on, like yours stressed, breathing horribly, the little sweety kept walking into EVERYTHING, grrr, Missy here is the lawn, mum, no, here is the plant, anyways, I am pleased of one thing, that she died in my arms..... 17 EHBETH... 17... and a couple of weeks, bless her ....she lived for me, though she had such a hard time working out where she was going.... Food lols, gawd did she love her food, kissed me everytime to bits, to get it Smile May your little ones be well you two... Now she is with Jet, the rabbit, JC, who died the day after Christmas, also hiding a problem.... incase his preditors found out... Watch my gardens grow with absolutely every plant and colour I can put in there until it's full of life.

Having said that, we did have a good new year and I thank D for all he did to help me through both situations... now for a glass or 20 of wine, ok 5, ... 6....or something.

Happy New Year all... Hope 2013 is good and happy for everyone... Set get better.

nice way to start the new year, walking along the lake near Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island on a beautiful summer morning, well in my mind anyway, The Night Air ( a great show on ABC Radio National) is replaying best of shows and the most recent, Worn In, is one i listened to two summers ago while on my morning walk on vacation

one of the views on my walk

New Years Eve has begun. We will be staying at the Don Cesar tonight. Can't wait to see friends and welcome in 2014. 2013 was a great year and 2014 will be even better, especially when we arrive in CA that is if I can smuggle the Puerto Rican across the State line and past the fruit inspection station. Set's out taking advantage of the free public transit available tonight. He's had some bad cabin fever since the ice storm - he's off looking for an open coffee shop.

I'm home with two little dogs - making hot cocoa for myself.

Work will be nuts when we get back in - the ice storm has meant a bunch of us were asked to help triage some higher end claim calls - I think cocoa and an early night with a book doesn't sound so bad this year.

What the heck - it's New Year's Eve. Napoleon Brandy in the hot cocoa it is. Time to get wild

They mentioned on the news before that most people spend New Year's Eve at home, not doing anything in particular.

I've never really liked going out on New Years Eve because there are too many people who have been drinking on the road. And at the moment it's very cold here--it's in the low 20's and breezy, so it feels even colder. I went out earlier and I couldn't wait to get back home. Burrrr...and Friday they are predicting a high of 19 degrees, with snow. Sad ehbeth's cocoa sounds very appealing.

2013 was an awful year for me, so I'm ready to start a new calendar and hope for better things to come in 2014. I'm very optimistic about that, moving ahead is exactly what I want to do right now.

At the moment, I'm starting to yawn. I'm not even sure I'll be able to stay awake until midnight. Laughing And warm cocoa seems much more tempting than the cold champagne in the fridge.

Happy New Year, everyone.

I've sipped a little from a present from my ex - he sent me some wee money, and I bought some Jamesons. Sort of a nod to pasts. We are both away, but remember. Still a good man.

@jcboy,
Be well all of you this next year.

What, not prosecco? That was a headline in the SFChron. Please ignore.

Me, the obnoxious italophile, has never tasted prosecco, and I'm not all that sorry.
