I disagree with Bush 100% on this but you won't like my reason. The reason is that teachers now teach to the dumb kids, and the smarter ones get left to learn on their own. Here's your assignment Timmy, now I have to go help the 20 mostly illiterate students read it.

Marva Collins demonstrated many, many years ago that even with the "worst" of students, it is possible to achieve astounding results, with little money, and a complete absence of governmental supervision. Too many cooks . . .
