Edgar Blythe posted Donavan's Legend of a Girl-Child Linda on the songs that stories thread. After I listened that old chestnut, I decided to pursue Donovan and I found this three year old piece.

I decided against posting it on Edgar's thread because I found the song wondering what is Donovan doing now. Then I thought of Harry Morgan, who died today. Perhaps, this would be a good place to post images of and news about actors and musicians no longer in the limelight.

Leo Sayer became an Australian citizen in 2008

His autobiography (as in he wrote his own bio) is here: http://www.leosayer.com/biography/leos-story-so-far

@hingehead,
Ah, yes. I loved LEo Sayer when I first heard him, but, his disco career left me cold. It's interesting to see that like many musicians, he is also an artist.

@plainoldme,
I loved "Atlantis" from Donovan.

Another Irish guy I liked was Gilbert O'Sullivan...

Another? Donovan is a Scot!

O'Sullivan has continued to record and perform into the 21st century. He enjoys particular acclaim in Japan.[4] His album A Scruff At Heart was released in 2007, featuring "Just So You Know". On 14 July 2008, O'Sullivan released "Never Say Di". He appeared at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival, and played London's Royal Albert Hall on 26 October 2009. On 26 August 2010 O'Sullivan announced that he had joined Hypertension, a record company that also holds Leo Sayer, Chris DeBurgh, Fleetwood Mac and Gerry Rafferty.
His latest album Gilbertville was released on 31 January 2011; it features "All They Wanted To Say", which deals with 9/11, and his most recent single "Where Would We Be (Without Tea)?". On 19 July 2011 O'Sullivan played live on the BBC Radio 2 Ken Bruce Show.[10] On 26 August the Documentary "Out On His Own" was broadcasted by BBC4 (before by Irish RTE).

Anyone interested in Bobby Rydell? I took this from a web page about him:

Today Bobby enjoys a career that is full. He has a busy schedule throughout the world as a headline solo act. Australia has welcomed him for 20 tours down under, where he continues to be a favorite performer. Bobby also performs regularly in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. For the past 25 years Bobby has also performed in over 700 shows in the must-see production called “The Golden Boys.” This is a happy, fun filled look back at a simpler time in music history with his childhood pals, Frankie Avalon and Fabian.

Really - I never realised he'd ever been here - not that I'm a fan anyway.

Did research - he first toured hear in 1960 with the Everly Brothers

On his last tour the dates explain why I'm oblivious - it's the club circuit - which I had brief exposure to from 1985 to 1987 doing tray service in Mounties' Auditorium.
