Kay alleges Syria connection

Kay also raised the possibility -- one he first discussed in a weekend interview with "The Sunday Telegraph" of London -- that clues about banned weapons programs might reside across Iraq's western border.

"There is ample evidence of movement to Syria before the war -- satellite photographs, reports on the ground of a constant stream of trucks, cars, rail traffic across the border. We simply don't know what was moved," Kay said.

But, he said, "the Syrian government there has shown absolutely no interest in helping us resolve this issue."

Kay acknowledged that the truth might never be revealed. Widespread looting in Baghdad after the invasion destroyed many government records. "There's always going to be unresolved ambiguity here."

* Is the American public going to be duped again?

If Bush is actually stupid enough to do the pre-emption thing again in Syria, all hell will break loose, over there and back here.

Does he expect anyone here in the US to believe Syria has the "Weapons of Mass Destruction Related Program Activities" ?

I almost wish he were that stupid so we could be sure to get rid of him in the next election.

The hardcore right are definitely in support of not only attacking Syria, but redefining the entire status of the Middle East... or to put it into the terms of one person I spoke with: "Kicking all their asses and showing them how things are going to be from now on".

However, as previously stated, the sh*t will really hit the fan if Bush tries to pull another "Pre-emptive" attack without complete and solid evidence of his claims.

I have a feeling that many Americans feel duped over this war, and even those who try to support the theory of "the end justifies the means" are admitting that maybe Bush shouldn't have draped his entire argument before the war in the "WMD" argument.

If Bush plans on invading another country, he'll place much more emphasis on the amorphic concepts as opposed to something that can be directly proven or not (such as the WMD claims).

We are fortunate to live in a time where information can be so quickly disseminated and shared among people. The moment Bush tries to pull this again, you can bet everyone and their grandmother will be researching Bush's claims with a critical eye.

Kay has said a lot of things all year, at times he seems inconsistant, I'm wondering if he is competent or a nut.

Kay
Perhaps he tried to actually do his job. The report he made didn't sit well with his employers, so he was forced to amend his report somewhat. He gave them an out. Maybe the WMDs were shipped to Syria. The CIA intell was lousy. This all smells of a coverup.
