That "context" is hardly context at all. Oristar, over all the months and years that we have been trying to help you, we have hammered away at this, and STILL you have not understood! This is the kind of additional "context" which is appropriate:

The version shown in Google Books does not clearly show the "iv" on the page I believe you are looking at, but the next page has the next number...
See the little "v" in the bottom right corner of the page? That is a Roman lower case 5. The initial parts of academic books (the "front matter") e.g.tables of contents, lists contributors and editors, preface, etc frequently have Roman page numbers, very often lower case, to distinguish that part from the main body of the book where the pages have Arabic numerals.
