What defenses and other things would you add to make a HQ for a group of streetfighters more hip?

@Linkat,
Another thing I am thinking of- if their HQ is underground how would their defenses work and would they be practical? Giving them something like a robot and two watchdogs to guard the fort, that is.

@JGoldman10,
You need to be aware of the waste water pipes, you wouldn't want one of them to crack and leak effluent everywhere.

@JGoldman10,
I can't picture a bird being underground. Not one you would normally have as a pet.

@JGoldman10,
What about having somewhere you can hang up your keys?

@Linkat,
They are streetfighting cats and dogs- I was thinking their HQ would in an alleyway somewhere underground. They could activate a trap door to it by lifting up a trash can lid with a wire on the inside of it which causes a trap door to open on the side of a dumpster, or on the ground, or somewhere in that vicinity, and the trap door leads to their underground HQ.

I was trying to come up with something with a cat- and dog-themed feel to it.

@JGoldman10,
How about a tree house - I know dogs don't climb trees but the cats could and could use a basket and pull them up.

The underground thing was done already with the teenage mutant ninja turtles. You need something original.

It's been done:

Leroy The Junkyard Dog:

That was a character in Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats:

I used to watch Catillac Cats when I was a kid.

Maybe the could crawl out of a kitty litter container - I know the cats emerge from kitty litter box, the dogs from dog house and the birds could be those carrier pigeons and they could emerge from the pigeon house!

@izzythepush,
The Catillac Cats was a cartoon on American TV that was in syndication in the '80s and was in reruns in the '90s:

The Catillac Cats were a gang of cats who lived in a junkyard. Riff Raff had a girlfriend with an hourglass figure:

How do you feel about Cleo?

They are humanized cats and dogs- that is a little too weird. I am just thinking about what types of things they would use that human beings would use.

Kids are weird - they like weird....if you are appealing to kids you need to think like them

@Linkat,
Characters like Danger Mouse and Darkwing Duck acted like people and did stuff human beings did.

They ate normal food that human beings ate. DM didn't do stuff that was mouse-orientated. DW didn't do anything duck-like except use duck-faced conveyances.
