THE MENTALIST New Season

Since the demise of the Jennifer Love Hewitt Show a/k/a GHOST WHISPERER
other than Nature shows on Discovery, National Geographic, etc.
my new favorite weekly TV show has been the Robin Tunney Show,
a/k/a: THE MENTALIST.

I think that thay r well written; clever.
I am pleased that Red John has been preserved for the new season.

Apparently, the fat fellow, is on the way out. He was not bad. He did the job.

I think that the plot has been logically crafted n presented.

WHATAYATHINK of it ??????????

@OmSigDAVID,
Do you notice how many characters there are in these crime comedies with encycloepadic knowledge who are for the most part unable to ralate to others???

I can see you watching the ghost whisperer... Sure, it is garbage; but the thought that we can be affected by the dead, or other supernatural powers is consistent with the david I know...

In point of fact, humanity has often taken charge of its own affairs, but in their effort to control the future of their kind they sentence them to slavery to the past because people only know what they grow up with, and cannot see event in time, with historical vision, but see only within the scope of their own lives which leaves them powerless and blind to judge and control their own events.

@OmSigDAVID,
I generally love the show and I am glad they figured out how to come back this season because after the finale last season I figured they had to be done, but I was pretty irriated last night when a group of good CBI agents were completely destroyed, their careers ruined so that Jane could get his buddies back and even more irriated that the guy in charge would cave to Jane's demands. Usually when Jane screws around with people it is not nearly has destructive.

He was loyal to his friends,
who have become almost like family; all he has.

I agree about the collateral damage (thay were not bad guys),
but that was not without its humor.

True, but I wish they would have written the story to not have him destroy other, hard working CBI agents. When he's busting the bad guys, you can sympathize with his antics. When he occasionally roughs up a victim, he usually makes it up in the end. Here he just hacked up a couple of people and smiled about his power to do it. Very unbecoming, inconsistent and a little psycho. These new guys could have been his friends also. Red John approves I'm sure.

Your points r well taken (except the one about Red John).

In the past, when he has embarrassed CBI guys,
it was because thay were rude or threatening to him FIRST;
not so this time.

On another point:
when the Red John plot line eventually comes to fruition,
the audience will be owed an explanation of how
he successfully got his minions to be so self sacrificing for him.

@OmSigDAVID,
When it comes to fruition?

Did you never watch Monk where he spent 8 seasons and never found the person that killed his wife?

Seldom; I 've seen only a very few episodes of Monk.
As I remember, I saw one in which he DID find the murderer.
Is that a current series?? or has it been cancelled?

My memory is not clear on this point; I 'm not sure.
I might be incorrect.

Candor moves me to admit, tho
that Red John was written to be a worthy adversary.
When I believed that he had shot Red John,
I wondered what was left. That great, vengeful quest
was his comprehensive motivation. Without THAT,
it even became questionable that he had any reason
to continue to assist the CBI.

Y shoud he care ????

Your memory is faulty David.

I thought that maybe that was the last ep. of the series,
but more likely, as u say, my memory is in error.

The writers did what they could to make unsympathetic the agents who
took over the unit Patrick was assigned to. For engineer, they failed.
They had partial success with me. But I like it that there are a lot of
things I don't like about Jane while still enjoying his charm and brains.

What I just can't get by, though, is the verdict that acquitted him.
OMSIGDavid, you're a lawyer (or were). Did that seem plausible to you?
