						Hi, I will be working in SF for 3 months every year. My primary tax home is in Ireland! If I work per diem, is it better for me to file taxes as an independent contractor than employee? Would I make more money by taking a travel contract? Are there the same write off s as per tax advantage/1542 per diem rates as working as a hospital per diem? ie meals, lodging etc excpept you just deduct these expenses in your end of year taxes?
Thanks.

													@carmelite,
												You might do a bit of research on it, but if you're working for just per diem I don't believe you'll be taxed on it anyway as it is considered an expense reimbursement rather than a net income.

 File taxes where? Also, you file in the United States by what your employer gives you, a w-2 or 1099.

													@carmelite,
												I'm going to be watching this thread just to see if there's a CPA or Tax Lawyer on A2K who will give you this advice for free.
