So what did you watch - the Roast or the Death?

Kutcher or Sheen? Which did you watch or if not would prefer. I did see just a little bit of the pre-Roast show, and was surprised who was going to the Roast.

I saw just the beginning of Two and a half men - by accident as I was flipping through and saw a funeral. Figured I had to watch and make sure they killed the Sheen character.

Thought the first half was pretty funny. Didn't watch much more into it though.

@Linkat,

Neither one. I watched Monday Night Football as there was a lot more drama and action. However, I did get a report from a friend on 2.5 Men and Kutcher. Sheen is yesterday's news to me.

I have watched 2 1/2 Men from the beginning. Despite the off screen fighting, I thought they should have respected Sheen's character. I don't intend to see any more episodes.

@edgarblythe,
I don't have a problem with it - his character didn't have much respect for others or himself for that matter. So it actually was fitting for whom he was as a character.

I stopped watching after a while because each episode was exactly like another. The same old jokes (just worded differently) - got old after a while.

I didn't watch it but when I went to the feed store today to buy dog food a bunch of grizzled old farmers were hanging out to talk about it.

It totally cracked me up!

@boomerang,
I watched the roast myself. I believe Comedy Central, like much everything else it touches, has bastardized the Roast and sullied the spirit in which it was originally conceived. I can only describe the 'comedy' on display there as a grotesque display of racism and hatred thinly disguised as 'all in good fun'.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

@boomerang,
His mom trying to sell his condo at the funeral - loved it. The stalker - married to Charlie - talking about how the death occurred and then the kid saying how he was hungry afterwards. Kind of sick, but fitting of all the characters.

Loved when Alan threw the ashes up into the air when scared by the Kutcher character. Then for symbolism purposes Aston walks over the ashes.

@Questioner,
I like some of the Comeday Central stand up routines, but most of the other stuff on this show - crosses the line.

Maybe I'm getting old as well.

We watched, I wasn't a big fan of Charlie but I don't see the show lasting without him. Wasn't funny at all last night.

Sheen acts like a jerk.
I like to avoid him.

@OmSigDAVID,
Thus why I watched the pre-show of the roast - I was curious who the heck would show up to roast Sheen.

I'm trying to remember whether I was watching
an early (re-run) show of Top Shot, or not.
If that was on the History Channel at 9PM,
then that was probably what I was watching.

@edgarblythe,
I have watched it from the beginning too, and always loved it. Interesting ensemble of characters...Berta, the mom, Rose, the psychiatrist, Herb, Russell the Pharmacist, the pizza delivery guy. The kid was way funnier when younger, but Alan and Charlie were at the center of it all. I don't think the show will survive, based on Monday night's debut.

If someone is less funny,
is that the fault of the writers or the actor ?

@OmSigDAVID,
well, as far as Jake goes, little kids are just funnier than sullen teenagers. I'm not sure the chemistry is the same between Alan and Ashton is the same as that between Alan ans Charlie. Writers can't fix that.
