Letty. On the test page, I said if you're copying from the picture there, to highlight it, which you did, hit IMG in the reply box, Paste the address in the box that comes up, hit OK and that should do it. I'm confusing you about the "three lines". If you were copying the picture from Google Images, then you would have had to highlight 3 lines.

No, honey. You're not confusing me. I've tried it both ways--from Google and from your picture. I think where I'm having a problem, is exactly what to delete from the URL.

Well, I appreciate the patience, all.

And for Mr. Wizard, a wink back atcha  You are sooooo funny, Wizard

On the page with the pic you want, right click on the pic and click on "Properties." Highlight the address and make sure it ends in .gif or .jpeg. Anything that may appear beyond the two acceptable formats delete. Copy the address by using Ctrl and C (or use the copy tool that is on your Explorer tool box -- you can add it and paste by configuring the toolbar, clicking on View and Toolbar.

Then click on the A2K page you want to post on "Post Reply." At the top is an "Img" button. Paste the address into that box and okay. The address of the image will appear in brackets in the body of the reply and you can type in any descriptive material there. Then post the reply.

I copied the address as it appeared in the Properties address box -- make sure the entire address is highlighted before copying it. You can leave out one letter at the beginning or the end and it won't post correctly. Do not copy the address of the pic -- you need to right click and then click on "Properties" to get the individual address of that particular image.

Ooops, I see Raggedy also posted instructions.

Ooops, again -- pasting is done by pressing Ctrl and "V" Then Explorer tools are top right icons -- the Copy is two dog-eared tiny pages with three half-tone lines. The Past icon is a clipboard with the same page overlapping.

Hi LW. I think where I'm confusing Letty is that I told her the URL she's copying should have three lines. And it should if she's copying from Google. I also told her if she's copying from Google to delete everything AFTer http11 up to www.

Sometimes it's tricky highlighting the Google URL so that three lines appear.

You don't want to copy the Google URL in the Explorer toolbar area for an individual image, if that's what you're stating. You want to right click on the image, click on Properties and then copy the address of the individual image. Many times that address is only one line. But if it goes to two or three lines and has data beyond .gif or .jpeg it can be tricking highlighting it. You have to place the cursor behind the .gif or .jpec and then brush over the address of the image working to the right and going up line by line to the http. If the h is left off, for instance, which is easy to do or if you accidentally highlight something else in that box, you will get an error and the image won't post.

Another way to copy is to right click on the image address and click on "Select All." That will highlight the entire address and you'd have to backspace or delete anything beyond .gif or .jpeg. In this case, the address had nothing beyond so it was easy to copy.

This past few days I purchased a double pack containing Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Streetcar Named Desire. I mentioned this on Letty's thread. I had not seen Who's Afraid in its entirety since 1969, I believe, in a tiny theater in Kansas City. The four actors were still convincing to me, though much of the appreciation of their roles is lessened by knowing in advance all the punch lines.
I had never watched more than a few minutes of Streetcar, making it a rare treat. To be sure, I was bowled over by Brando, but Vivien Leigh also stood out for me.
All in all, a good viewing experience this time around.

I'll bet it was. Virginia Woolf was one of the most sickingly intriguing movies for me. Talk about watching a train wreck in slow motion?? And "Streetcar..."? Is there a sadder woman than Blanche DuBois?

Unfortunately, I believe that double-pack contains the edited version of "Streetcar." Does it include the entire scene on the staircase where Stella is considerably more erotic and the entire rape scene which was cut many decades ago for the TV version, and became the acceptable video version for many years?

I would say they cut it. I had never seen that portion of the film before, but it did seem clipped.

That is sometimes the problem with films that have become public domain -- Elia Kazan passed away and I'm not sure if he has any interested family to continue the copyrights. I recently purchased a bargain copy of Orson Welles' "The Stranger." The editing appeared choppy at places and the print was not very good. Ah, well -- caveat emptor!

"Streetcar" suffers from these cuts and the impact is markedly lessened.

True. That scene almost gets rolling and the film suddenly jumps ahead. Frustrating to think our moral guardians can't let us make up our own minds.

edgar and all. Last night I watched a made for TV movie called The Glow. It was a simple Rosemary's Baby theme revisited, but it had a good cast.

Anyone see it? I haven't seen Hal Linden since Barney Miller.
