and that's probably why I didn't like Monster. You know, edgar, I don't think that we realize how fortunate we are, sometimes. Perhaps it's that factor, and that factor alone which draws us into drama.
UhOh, I'm getting all philosophical. Didn't mean to do that.
Philosophise all you want, girl. I don't always have the acumen to keep up, but I am interested nevertheless.
I look through all the philosophy threads and wonder what the hell people are talking about.
When I say drama, I think of the need for all of us to have our little place in the sun, but maintain some degree of the goodness of night. The night used to be my friend. I would sit on the beach alone; Sit on a tree limb alone; play alone. I would write poetry at night and shudder at what I had written the next morning. I'm not talking symbolism, edgar. I'm talking about reality. Then as the days grew shorter, I begin to see how important is was and is for me to write.
My word. I love this expunging of the inner Letty through the cinema.
Thank you, edgar.
For myself life has been peeling away the layers of binding cloth that trapped me in early life and has only recently begun to expose the natural me. I would not return to my former self for all the wealth and glory on Earth. For once, I am content being as I am.
and I must learn to be, edgar. I've always known who I was, but I don't think many others did or do. and to tell you the unvarnished substance of it all, I think this may be one of the best philosophical discussions that I have ever had.
No longer will I try and mend any fences.
Goodnight, my friend
I have made it a practice to avoid most Disney feature length cartoons, from Sleeping Beauty on. The ones I did sample AND ENJOYED are few and far between. I liked Tarzan as much as any Tarzan film ever. The Pixar films are not really Disney, so I am not considering them. Recently I sat down to view Lilo and Stitch with my grandson. To my surprise I found the story line and characters engrossing. The art was beautiful. I would recommend it to most anyone.
I watched "Van Helsing" last night - just to see... full of Australians who obviously had fun making it, but it is not nightmare material. I found it quite amusing.
I agree on the whole Disney avoidance... it is too much.
I had the opportunity to watch Van Helsing - Passed.
I had an opportunity to watch Pittsburgh vs. West Virginia. I, too, passed.
Seriously, I was asking the Wizard about a cliff hanger movie called The Medusa Complex, or some such thing. It had to do with a doomsday machine aboard a plane and the ex wife of a brilliant, but insane man who was seeking revenge on the world through her.
Seems to me that Martin Sheen was the president.
I know. I can't find it by googling, either. Did watch The Wedding Singer. I know it was a bit smaltzy, but I liked it.
I missed The Wedding Singer.
almost anything with Steve Buscemi ill at least check out
Has anyone seen saw? Is it good?
nope but I read about it - interesting how they got the whole thing underway. Nice to see people make it when they honestly have talent.
I just came back from seeing Saw. Was very good with a good twist at the end but very scary in parts.
has anyone heard of Double indemnity
Double Indemnity is great! It is one of my top fifty
favorites. Fred MacMurray made a bunch of good
films
I've probably seen Double Indemnity, but I can't put the story to the title.
