I have been having pelvic pain for the last 2 months with fluttering in my lower stomach & pelvic area. It feels like it do when you're pregnant and baby is moving. But negative blood and urine pregnancy test. My menstrual is regular and on time each month. My gyno ordered transabdominal & transvaginal ultrasounds for pelvic pain & gallbladder. She called after she got the results and said my gallbladder was negative and my pelvic area was all good. But i was still having pains so I got a copy of the reports on my own. I'm no doctor but something don't seem right about the report. Here is a copy:

Findings: TRANSABDOMINAL: The uterus measures 11 x 5.1 x 6.0 cm. The endometrium is 1.1 cm in thickness. No definate myometrial masses are noted.

The right ovary measures 2.5 x 1.9 x 1.7 cm. The left ovary measures 2.5 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm. There are multiple small follicles in both ovaries. There is no evidence of an adnexal mass or free fluid.

TRANSVAGINAL: The myometrium is heterogeneous. Several small fibers are noted in the anterior and posterior fundus. The largest posteriorly measures 0.9 x 0.9 x 0.6 cm. The endometrium is 0.7 cm in thickness. The right ovary measures 2.5 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm & the left ovary measures 2.8 x 1.8 x 2.5 cm. There is no evidence of an adnexal mass or free fluid.

IMPRESSION:

1. Enlarged fibroid uterus with 2-subcentimeter fibroids seen in the anterior and posterior fundus.

2. Normal appearance of the ovaries, adnexa and endometrium

Would a pregnancy show with ultrasounds? I had an accident in march with the protection coming off! But if I was that would make me months! & I know if something was there it would have shown up! But I'm still having Mild cramps & pelvic pain! But she say I'm ok. Should I get a second opinion?

It seems like you're asking us for one.

Yes, go to another doctor.

@Msann38,
I had a similar problem a year or two ago and nearly fainted when the doctor thought at first that I might be pregnant. Yes I think if you were pregnant they would have found it in an ultrasound and if your periods are regular and your blood and urine tests were negative it sounds pretty conclusive. But I do understand that feeling of doubt and so you should get a second opinion if it will give you peace of mind. I would be more worried that the doctor hasn't found the cause of your pain (or does she think its the fibroids?), rather than whether you're pregnant or not. You obviously want a second opinion or you wouldn't be asking on here... so yes, go and get one.

@MonaLeeza,
Thank you for the advice! She said lots of people live with fibroids! But i think Im one who cant! & far as pregnant I just want to make sure Im not cuz I drink socially and my job requires heavy lifting & constant bending! I like this forum. People are nice on here!

@Msann38,
I'm living with a fibroid about the size a tennis ball and it doesn't cause me any trouble . I'm in my mid 40's so I'm expecting it to shrink away in the next few years anyway. But one of my close friends had a lot of pain from fibroids and ended up having a hysterectomy. Yours are only small and may not be the cause of your pain, but if your pain isn't going away and the only thing they can find is fibroids I'd be wanting a better discussion than 'lots of people live with fibroids'. I think the doctor told me that small fibroids can be removed vaginally without the need for regular surgery. You shouldn't have to be in pain - I think you should get a second opinion and/or see a specialist. Good luck.
