So I have dived into writing again. Well I have never really stopped but I am now pushing to try and get some stuff published.

I posted some stuff here way back when. It's the reason I came to the site in the first place. But now as I go back to the links where I posted these stories (sadly i have lost my other copies) the thread is there, but the content of the original story is gone. The replies are there, but not the original post.

Any idea why this is?

(P.S. I missed you all. Today is my birthday and I have decided this shall be my present to myself. Going for a dream.)

@Seed,
Hello Seed,

Can you post a link to the thread you have in mind?

@Seed,
Sounds unusual that the story itself would be missing. Hopefully, it will be returned to the proper thread.

Happy Birthday and Welcome Back!

So when I click on those links there is no story. But oddly enough when I click quote the story shows up in the reply box. Very odd.

@Seed,
Hi, Seed, good to see you.

That happened to me. I clicked on contact us (see at bottom of the page) and addressed my problem to Jespah, and she helped find the missing material. I am assuming it happened in some sort of a2k site maintenance thing and I didn't notice it for a long time, maybe years. I've no idea if different post losses have different causes, but in my case it could be found.

It wasn't easy for her to find it, and I think it would help if you give her the specific details of the thread URL and title, and the URL of the first post that you do still see. That's the number to the upper right of where your avatar and screen name are.. right now, for example, your post that I'm responding to is #4,710,186.

Be patient - if she or another mod can find it, it may be time consuming to do.

@ossobuco,
Didn't see your last reply - but now I assume that the story is findable.

Meantime, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

@Seed,
I'm guessing there was some sort of a nonprinting character in there, but it looks like it's resolved now.

The same thing happens on my old threads. But the material is not lost, so long as the quote function works.
