Can you switch indexes on threads - switch between being a discussion & a question & vice versa?

I noticed I have some threads that should have been discussions and not questions. I realized I was a bit lazy to notice indexes. Can you change the index on a thread from Question to Discussion, or vice versa, and if so, how do I do that? Please help. Thank you.

@jespah,
Okay. Can two threads be merged into one, at least?

@jespah,
What if I indicated to an admin or a staffer which threads I wanted to be switched from being discussions to questions or vice versa? Could they do that?

@JGoldman10,
I am an admin. And I am telling you, we cannot do this. I am sorry.

@jespah,
Okay. I recall a while ago I posted a thread and then made a new one to request that the old thread be merged with that new one and they did that, because the old thread was an errant thread. When did they stop doing that?

@JGoldman10,
We have never been able to merge threads (I have been an admin here since the beginning and I know this for a fact). I suspect that what happened is that the other thread was pulled, or you may be thinking of another forum site you were on at the time.

@jespah,
What if you were to be accused of blasphemy? Would that make any difference?

@jespah,
No - I am pretty certain it was this one. If threads weren't merged, one was used to replace another one. This happened a while ago.

It might have been done before the site was revamped but I am not sure.

@JGoldman10,
I know this for a fact. I know how the software works. Argue all you like, but I have been an admin/mod since Day One and we have never, ever been able to merge topics. Sorry, but you are mistaken.

I am done discussing this.

PS If a topic replaced another one, you made it. We don't go around making topics for you.
