Re decrytonite I am only finding out about them now, and it's not like I can prevent this short of deciding to ban them all and remove posts, but if you want to get them out of view do this:
Ah ha, so that's how that works. I wondered how the "filter noise" link worked.
Is there a way to get a list of any/all forums that have been "removed" in case I killed some things in the distant past and can't remember?

It usu7ally disappears eventually!

Decryptonite was a contest for high schools in India only. They all came to A2K to chat with each other.
Farmerman seems to be a fan of the contest. Maybe he will start such a contest for Pennsylvania high schools. We will soon be seeing Pennsylvania kids coming here to chat.
I don't really mind, especially now that I'm clearer about filter use/how to. I somewhat knew that, but hadn't been apt to consider it before.
Well, back with Western Breakfast, but that was pre filter.

Noticed that myself. I think there's a glitch in the system. If you vote one down and either click the refresh button, new posts, or go immediately to the next page, it goes away. If you vote it down and then open another post on the same page, the one you voted down is right back where it was.
I've gotten in the habit of voting down every decryptonite on the page and then refreshing before I even look at the real posts.
It didn't really bother me, I just scrolled by them once I knew what the decryponite thing was about. It's similar to other things in the new topics, I can come in and see several from 1 or 2 or 3 people all on the same topic and often (usually) it's spammish in nature.
I hope you're ready for the next phase when they have their REcryptonite contest.
So, head's up for next time, Robert - give these groupie people their own FORUM/GROUP right from the Get-Go, okay??? Don't allow your long-time people to become annoyed because of a short-term group - Lesson #1. Learn it!
Huh?? What exactly am I supposed to have done about it for you Mame?
Yikes, sorry! Didn't realize how rude that sounded! Very sorry. Don't know what exactly you can do, not being a computer savvy person, but I think I was just expressing my frustration with the swamping of so many of those threads. Again, sorry.

i might argue that a decryptonite post is every bit as "real" as any other post on here...
Yes, but it doesn't mean a person has to like it.

@Mame,
No worries, in this case I can't do much but try to improve different noise-control features (of course, there is a fundamental problem with them in that many people dislike both noise and filters, but I will just have to try to make the filter more useful I guess).
