Wow, you see how Illinois works up close and personal and yet I take it you STILL trust the state to kill only guilty people??!! I wouldn't trust the state of Illinois to collect my groceries, not having the death penalty is Illinois is pure common sense.

I used to know our former chief of police. Very conservative person, but against the death penalty just because it wasn't worth the time and money to persue it.

The 'death penalty' can be avoided if the police follow the following procedure when they happen upon a criminal/terrorists during the commission of a capital crime.

Draw weapon, shoot, shoot again as needed, say 'stop - police' in a normal voice and call the coroner.
