@blueveinedthrobber,
I did not find a hare,
but I did encounter a tortoise with c.14 inch shell
and a long neck like a snake. He was perched on doubleyellow lines
on a 4 lane hi way in Upstate, NY a few years ago; precarious position.
I parked my car, picked him up by the rear of his shell
(as he snapped at me) and escorted him to the wet irrigation ditch
on the side of the road, in a farmer's field.

@OmSigDAVID,
We've had the triumphal return of the bunny (most likely, bunny family) who comes here every year. RP and I both saw the lil brown one this morning, enjoying a small slice of the front lawn and trying to stay cool.

@jespah,
That 's WONDERFUL!

I 'm surprized that, tho I live in Queens,
there is a family of racoons who is out each night
and opposums have been seen around. We also have cardinals; very colorful.

@OmSigDAVID,
What if the tortoise, in despair at its inability, due to lack of thumbs, to realize its divine right to own guns, sought to end its own life, and you deprived it of the act it felt would give its life meaning?

@dlowan,
He 'd have more time to re-consider.
As far as I know, he 's still there.

Saw another bunny on the trail yesterday. This one took off like a bat out of hell. Obviously no relation to our Ms. Buns. Very Happy

@blueveinedthrobber,
I believe that was a second cousin twice removed to our Lady Bunny. Divorced from the Bunny family and into a scandolous interspecies marriage with a fruit bat.

Was the talk of the town last year. Confused
