The Polo Grounds are quiet

No more home runs here;
The kids all play playstation.
The park is silent.

The park is silent;
the roads are empty. Lights beam
down as city sleeps.

Down as city sleeps
the snow falls so silently,
washing things in white.

Washing things in white
An antiseptic vision
So cold and remote

So cold and remote
the words you say to me now,
I remember warm.

I remember warm
hot Miami days when Vice
drove fancy ferraris

Drove fancy ferraris
And a Rolls or two as well
They were quite the dudes

They were quite the dudes
with sunglasses and sleek cars
barrooming, with speed.

Barrooming, with speed
Inside and under their hoods.

What a lovely youth,
he walked the walk enclosed by
stone arches in sun

Stone arches in the sun
Could be in Strove or in
Ravenna, I think.

<I see he did it twice with the arches, which means I pushed the Back button....>

Ravenna, I think
I so want to see it in
early morning light.

horse bath?

Bagnocavallo, a
village I treasure, or will,
has a fountain for horses
and a trough for swill.

Who needs a haiku
When they can put together
A rhyming quatrain?

(it's a small town near Ravenna where I am going at the end of September!)

(It happens to be the 'twin town' of Stone, a town where a friend of mine lives, and there is a jaunt to Bagnocavallo for 5 days. It looks nice in the pics, though it must be flat Sad but hell, for 5 days one can put up with flat.

Oft's best to write Italy;
Think Dante, my friends.
