Emo Philips When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.

@jjorge,
Give a man a corn, and he'll have a snack for a few minutes. Show him how to grow corn, and he'll be corny all his life.

Ugh! I heard a really good quote this morning. Couldn't write it down and ... of course, I quickly forgot it.

Every ambitious would-be empire clarions it abroad that she is conquering the world to bring it peace, security and freedom, and is sacrificing her sons only for the most noble and humanitarian purposes. That is a lie, and it is an ancient lie, yet generations still rise and believe it! ~Taylor Caldwell, Testimony of Two Men, 1968

"There is certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place" -Washington Irving

Year after year, I keep coming back to this quotation.
As a Gemini who doesn't believe in astrology, but recognizes myself in the description of same, it fits me to a tee.
To folks like me, being 'Bruised in a new place' is far preferable to being bored in an old place.
