@Eva,

Ain't it hard to stumble and land in some muddy lagoon,
Especially when it's nine below zero and three o'clock in the afternoon."

@edgarblythe,
Coming up on my 40th birthday next month Edgar I'm tempted to beg to differ... I guess I'm the exception to that judgement rule or at least incapable of recognizing this potential talent.

@tsarstepan,
But you are just nearing 40. When you are nearing 70 or 80 you may come to recognize the quote has some validity. And, I think generalizations, such as that cannot be held to any firm time line.

“The responsibility of our time is nothing less than a revolution. A revolution that would be peaceful if we are wise enough; humane if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough. But a revolution will come whether we will it or not. We can affect it's character, we cannot alter it's inevitability.”
― Robert F. Kennedy

I saw pale kings and princes too,
Pale warriors, death-pale were they all;
They cried—“La Belle Dame sans Merci
Hath thee in thrall!”

And there is a Catskill eagle in some souls that can alike dive down into
the blackest gorges, and soar out of them again and become invisible in
the sunny spaces. And even if he for ever flies within the gorge, that
gorge is in the mountains; so that even in his lowest swoop the
mountain eagle is still higher than other birds upon the plain, even
though they soar.

I need to get out of my cyclical reading slump and at least try to read Moby Dick. Thanks for that sample George. Smile

@tsarstepan,
It's quite good. A bit far fetched in places but none the worse for that.

Perhaps George knows the verbatim of the one about the ladies in Boston turning their wicks down when at their toilette to save on oil. Rather prophetic I thought.
