“Sometimes I lie awake at night and I ask, "Is life a multiple choice test or is it a true or false test?" ...Then a voice comes to me out of the dark and says, "We hate to tell you this but life is a thousand word essay.”

@spendius,
“Be of good cheer. Do not think of today's failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere; and you will find a joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.”

On the far side of revenge.
Believe that further shore
Is reachable from here.
Believe in miracles
And cures and healing wells.”

@edgarblythe,
She is a well known philanthropist ed in the children's charity world so I assume she was being cutting about those who see the scenes from Africa and then pass on to the next thing.

A bit like a Lord here who said that he thought the poor were the people you had to step over coming out of the Opera.
