@vonny,
"The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder."
..... Alfred Hitchcock
“When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He’s written “He dies.” That’s all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is “He dies.” It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with “He dies.” And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it’s only natural to be sad, but not because of the words “He dies,” but because of the life we saw prior to the words. I’ve lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I’m only asking that you turn the page, continue reading… and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest “He died.”
― Dustin Hoffman
@edgarblythe,
Here is another case of I don't know who exactly composed Hoffman's statement. The poster attributed it, not myself.
"Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life". -Unknown
@edgarblythe,
It's from Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium". Dustin Hoffman played Mr. Magorium. Mahoney was played by Natalie Portman. It's a great little movie.

"If you can look into the seeds of time, and say which grain will grow and which will not, speak then unto me."

Who wrote the script? That's to whom the quote should be credited, not Dustin Hoffman. Hoffman was just the actor who mouthed the lines.

My happiest memory of childhood was my first birthday in reform school. This teacher took an interest in me. In fact, he gave me the first birthday presents I ever got: a box of Cracker Jacks and a can of ABC shoe polish.

It doesn't take much literary skill to identify which A2Kers she would have had in mind. Most experts I have read think America is obsessed with virility. Thus either Simone was wrong or all this equality is mere flannel.

"You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your dominant aspiration."

<Saw this quote in a newspaper and am still scratching my head, trying to figure out what the hell this Allen person is trying to say. He must use a different vocabulary from mine. To me, that quote is totally oxymoronic. If someone wants to explain it to me, I'll gladly listen.>
@Lustig Andrei,
The first part is easy but the second one is tripe.
