The means by which we live have outdistanced the ends for which we live. Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men. – Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Most of the records were lost in the war. Skynet knew almost nothing about Connor's mother. Her full name, where she lived. They just knew the city. The Terminator was just being systematic. "

If Jesus had been killed twenty years ago, Catholic school children would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.
-Lenny Bruce
The earliest reference to the crucifixion and electric chairs that I could find is in a novel by Phillip Wylie. In Finnley Wren, the central character gets in trouble by suggesting that a modern Jesus possibly would have been electrocuted instead of put up on a cross. He even mentioned the little electric chairs around the neck. The novel was written either in the 1940s or 50s.
