I appreciate you clarifying this. It seems ironic that the protests would aim to end slavery from kings and dictators only to institute even more slavery to a harsh and unmerciful set of laws.

You're right, what has happened up to now is that fundamentalist Islam has positioned itself as the only opposition to what a lot of arabs view as American hegemony in the Middle East; propping up dictators in Egypt/Saudi etc. and being completely uncritical of Israel.

The worst attrocities at the moment seem to be going on in Syria, and the Syrian president Bashar-Al-Assad, like Gadaffi in Libya is portraying his opponants as Al-Qaida inspired terrorists. For the most part they're not. They're just ordinary people who want what ordinary people want the world over, to live their lives, and bring up their children free from fear.

The first thing ANY slammite country would have to do to improve the lives of its cvitizens would be to get rid of I-slam (i.e. none of its other problems would be as large as a devil-worship-based ideological doctrine and system specifically formulated for world dominion and total control over the lives of all living creatures on the planet). Once such a country fixed THAT problem, its other problems would become solvable.

Gunga, do you feel the exact same way about Christians and their "onward Christian soldiers" laws and dreams of world domination and a bible in ever hand? A hatred for the devil because the devil of the Christians gave us knowledge of good and evil, autonomous thought and freed us from the slavery to God... So it is a sin to not be slaves to God? Is that not exactly the same as Islam which means submission? I don't see you spouting off hate in the same way for Christians which is exactly the same thing. Christians did not make the western society, secularism made the west free with liberty. Christians would do anything to change our free and open society as their collection plate money now goes into political hate campaigns and no longer feeds the poor.

There'ssome really disgusting stuff going on there right now. One of the rallying figure is a 13 year old boy who was tortured to death by security forces, including castration.
