Yep, I asked him, he said they have to go through customs. I told him it’s time to send them to the zoo, that’s when he hung up the phone!

Henry and Harry are being shipped off to a tortoise farm in March.
We can’t keep them any longer. We’ve had to bring them in every night since it’s been cold, they don’t like it below 70 degrees.
Both of them weigh about 60lbs each! And Harry the Male has gotten aggressive, he doesn’t like anyone coming into his pen, and when you have a 60 lb tortoise coming at you with a bullet proof shell there is no stopping him.

A pity. But at least they should be well cared for.
Yes Edgar. When I got them close to 7 years ago I heard they got big, third largest tortoise in the world. But I didn’t know they got that big and that fast!
They’re not a pet for anyone!
They’re not aggressive with me but with anyone else they are! Especially the male, Harry. When you go into his pen to feed them he comes charging at you like a ton of bricks, I’ve read he does that because the other one is female and you can’t keep a male and female together because he gets too dominate. He sure does get dominate, you better get out of his way or he will charge at you!

I've loved hearing about Harry and Henry.
I'm sorry you have to give them up and hope they'll be happy in their new home.
Probably not Margo. We have the three dogs and Smokey the cat. Antonio had a hairless Guinea Pig but it only lived for a month. Not sure what happened to him, we just found him dead one morning.
I never knew Sulcata Tortoises could be aggressive.
I found these two videos online showing two aggressive males. The first video shows how the aggression starts, the guy filming it thinks the tortoise is just coming after the camera, well he’s not, he’s trying to tell him to get out of his territory.
I can surely see the problem. They do get big, don't they?

Good-bye Harry.
He’s moving to a 5-acre tortoise rescue facility. It’s a non-profit organization that rescue’s Sulcata Tortoises when they just get too big or too aggressive to keep. I will sponsor him for a small fee each month, that way I know he will be well fed and taken care of.
We’re keeping Henry, after all I got Henry before I brought Harry home. I can’t part with him.
Here is a video I found online. Harry was this size just six years ago and he gained 10 lbs a year!
