@ossobuco,
I’ve been reading about those tortoises, they can actually get to 300lbs each, I have no idea what he plans on doing with them when they get that big!

@MMarciano,
I dunno about your tortoises. They may have requirements re turtle sociology that I'm clueless about. Read up, you two!

@MMarciano,
... and if you did that in the gay pride parade it'd be a perfect metaphor for those gays who haven't announced for them to "come out of their shells".

@jcboy,
And little Harry, Henry wanted to pick on him so he had to live in this container until they got use to each other.

They finally got use to each other but every now and then I would catch Henry giving Harry dirty looks.

@jcboy,
Trying to imagine what a dirty look looks like from a turtle.

Hey, I just bought a Turtle Fur headband to keep the ears warm. They say it's harvested from very young turtles. Were you quick enough to get some. Or maybe they don't have fur in the far south. Who knows?

@ehBeth,
Yes they are! I have to be careful feeding them. They will eat all day long if you let them and the more they eat the bigger and faster they get. I read it’s not good to let them grow so quickly, they can develop a pyramid shape shell, which isn’t healthy for them.

And what is strange is Henry is starting to pyramid and Harry isn't and they eat together everyday and have for the last three years.

@jcboy,
Will you have to control the amount Henry eats?

@ehBeth,
Oh yeah, you have to, they feed twice a day. They would eat constantly all day long if you allowed them to.

Henry use to have his own lounge chair by the pool when he was little. He’s outgrown it now LOL

@jcboy,
Do you measure their daily feed allotment?

@ehBeth,
I don’t actually measure it, I time them. I will allow them to feed for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. They can eat as much as they want in that time, then I take the food away. If I don’t take the food away then will come back every hour looking for more!

@jcboy,
We wouldn't be able to do that here.

The girl dog would eat for half an hour straight and get fatter and fatter, while the boy dog would be done after five minutes (and the girl dog would then polish off his food). We have to count their kibble for each meal.

@ehBeth,
My dogs are just the opposite. Mac is female and she is a picky eater, now Frankie, you can’t put the food in his dish fast enough. Frankie was a stray, the shelter found him roaming the streets so he wasn’t getting much to eat.

Here is Henry, taken today. He gains a pound every three months.
