@revelette,
So there has been a war on homosexual marriages in the USA since 1776?

I can't answer that. I would have to know every person on the planet.

@Renaldo Dubois,
The purpose of these questions is to cause people to think: How long has there been a controversy about same-sex marriage? Was same-sex marriage even an issue as recently as 20 years ago?

@wmwcjr,
Agree. Everyone should just take a few seconds and examine the points presented. A lot of them don't even make sense.

A war in America against gay marriage......... Hilarious.

@Renaldo Dubois,
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't remember anyone talking about gay marriage 20 years ago. To make a comparison, the goal of racial equality was in the minds of people for a very long time in the struggle against Jim Crow.

Renaldo, do you even know what the words "love" and "peace" mean?

I am continually amazed when those who hate Christianity judge Christians. I stopped taking people like you seriously years ago.

@Renaldo Dubois,
I don't hate Christianity. The problem is that today's "Christians" have nothing to do with Christianity (meaning following the teachings and example of Christ).

If someone claims to be a Christian, then you should be able to compare their life with the words of the Bible. After all, Christians are supposed to be the light of the world and obvious to everyone who sees them.

Love, peace and forgiveness would be a clear part of the life of anyone who truly followed Christ. You know about the fruits of the spirit?

You seem to have a lot of hate in bitterness in you.

@maxdancona,
The problem as I see it is your definition of "hate and bitterness". It is not hate and bitterness to expose evil and shine a light on it. That is what Christians are told to do. That is what Jesus did.

The fact you put the spotlight on me instead of the issues reveals that you have very little knowledge, if any, of Christianity or Sharia Law.

@Renaldo Dubois,
I am talking about the Jesus of the Bible. I don't know what you are talking about.

Jesus called people to follow him. It was a call to a personal righteousness, not a call to self-righteousness. Jesus told the people who followed him to "be perfect" themselves. He didn't tell them to attack the imperfection in other people. You don't see Jesus attacking people in society. He certainly didn't do anything like what you are doing.

You don't see Jesus attacking people. You don't see Jesus calling people names or insulting people. These are not the fruits of the Spirit which are evidence of people who follow God. And there is no place where Jesus tells his follows to act in this way. The only call is "follow me".

The one group of people Jesus attacked were the religious people who went around attacking people for not being as religious as them.

Quote:
These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

@maxdancona,
I am speaking of Islam and Sharia Law. This is the discussion. Stick to it if you can. Islam is evil in my opinion and I am prepared to prove that point. The Christian church is told to expose the darkness with light. That's what I am doing. If you can't participate by defending your thread, then focusing on me is not gonna cut it.

No, Bubby, a review of this thread leads back to this question Are you against Christian Sharia Law?

Is an obvious red herring to anyone who can read---so clear your lenses and stick to the subject.

@raprap,
There is no such thing as "Christian Sharia Law". Might as well start a thread and call it "Rattrap is a genius".

@Renaldo Dubois,
I started this discussion. I know what is about. It is not about Islam and Sharia law. It is about Christianity and the the Christian equivalent of Sharia law. Read the title of the thread.

This thread is about people calling themselves "Christians" are setting up laws in the US to force people to follow their religious beliefs. These people state as much. They believe that their view of God's law should be used to run the country.

That is what this thread is about.

No. That is incorrect. You'd not need to know every person on the planet. I asked if any Christians worship Allah. You only need to know of a single one. This is of course besides the point. If you are a well versed on Christianity and Islam as you claim to be, you should readily know the answer is yes, and who the people are. Saying that you can't answer that does not mean there is no answer or that it is elusive, it means that you lack the knowledge on the topic to speak.

But you're still speaking. Speaking without knowledge or understanding. Such is your right, but you're not doing yourself any favors.

Do you want to be taken seriously?

What if we took your own words against you?

I am continually amazed when those who hate _____ judge _____.

A) Islam, Muslims
B) Democrats, Liberals
etc.

You don't have a lot of footing with statements like this.
