@Irishk,
I'm flying blind right now. Trusted ABC and Oscar.com because of their alleged online streaming via their All Access package which is a blatant lie. It isn't all access and there isn't online streaming of the ceremony.

@tsarstepan,
I'm watching Masterpiece Classic. There's a pretty good live blog here of the Oscars, though...

@tsarstepan,
The King's Speech or The Social Network?

If my math is correct then The King's Speech brings the win to McGentrix. If The Social Network then it's a tie between me and fbaezer.

Did I at least win most categories?

(I knew I was doomed when The King's Speech won Best Director)

For the record, I liked The King's Speech better than The Social Network, I was counting upon American croonyism. Bah!

not bad for a random alphabetical choice system, think next year i'll go with an age random choice system, youngest named person involved or newest production for an event with no name attached to the category

it'll still be better than actually having to watch most of the films Razz

out of everything mentioned this year the only ones i really want to see are the kings speech (my radio fave ronnie b had the best line about the ubiquitous british film nomination, "we've seen it all before, a bunch of people dress up in period costumes, at some point someone puts a table out on the lawn, another character touches the back of another's hand and they all eat strawberries") and the illusionist

congrats to the winners

Pshaaw! 2010 has turned out to be one of the best year's for film I can ever remember.

10/10:
1. Carlos
2. Summer Wars
3. Inside Job
4. Winter's Bone: Obviously my favorite of the Best Picture nominated films, I loved the mythically epic journey of Jennifer Lawrence's character. Lawrence is my favorite lead actress performance this year.

5. Ghost Writer
6. The Illusionist
7. Black Swan: Easily Natalie Portman's best career performance. I love seeing Aronofsky succeed box office wise with this Hitchcockian thriller.

8. How to Train Your Dragon
9. The Social Network: Despite the apparent King's Speech momentum, I think the academy will make The Soc Net the riptide film of the Oscars and drown King George VI and his entourage.

10. Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer
11. My Dog Tulip
12. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
13. Gasland
14. Toy Story 3: The best of the trilogy.
15. True Grit
16. The Town
17. 127 Hours
18. Inception
19. The Tillman Story
20. Restrepo

9/10:
The Fighter: A great boxing film with many excellent performances.

Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work
Mother
Blue Valentine
Kick-Ass
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Soul Kitchen
Despicable Me
Iron Man 2

8/10:
The Prophet
Micmacs
Exit Through the Gift Shop
The King's Speech: Lovely story and chemistry between the main cast, Colin Firth gives the second best lead actor performance this year behind the ineligible performance of Édgar Ramírez as the terrorist, Carlos the Jackal in Carlos.

Never Let Me Go
The Crazies
The Kid's Are All Right: Great ensemble performances all around, the film is flawed by the second half actions of the characters.
Shutter Island
