if you can call a man who is recorded in a phone conversation of thinking of hiring troublemakers to pretend to be union protesters to discredit them as a straight shooter!
I did not hear the call, but my understanding is that Walker said that someone brought this idea to him and that he rejected it.

This is a guy who has over 20 years public service between the Red Cross and government, and yet no one can find any dirt on him. Why is that do you suppose?

@BillRM,
you seem ignorant that the consensus take away from that tape is the Scott Walker says in private the same things that he says in public. And that this tape has had zero negative effect on his effort to rub out collective bargaining. The people have already made up their minds about this event, and they mostly do not agree with you.

The consensus according to who? Are you 'speaking for America' again? Didn't you just tell me not to do what you are currently doing?

Totally ******* wrong. Find one iota of proof that people agree with what Walker is doing in greater numbers than they disagree with it.

You just say whatever you want to be true, dontcha? And ignore all evidence to the contrary.

The Wisconsin standoff escalated a notch today when Senate Republicans threatened to hold their missing Democratic colleagues in contempt if they don’t return to the chamber in Madison today by 4 pm central time. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said, “They’re insulting the very fabric of our representative democracy.” The 14 Senate Democrats have been hiding out in Illinois since February 17th to stall a vote on Governor Scott Walker’s attempt to dismantle collective bargaining for state employee unions. Fitzgerald said the Democrats could be taken into custody if they enter Wisconsin. Attorneys who drafted the contempt order point to precedents including the U.S. Capitol Police carrying “Senator Bob Packwood feet first into the Senate chamber” when the Senate ordered the arrest of absent senators to fulfill a quorum during a campaign finance debate in 1988.

Democratic Senator Spencer Coggs told ABC News the stalemate “has taken an ugly turn” and that Republicans were attempting to be “punitive” instead of negotiating in good faith.

We keep hearing this out of the Dems......"But but but but....they are not negotiating! they are supposed to be NEGOTIATING! "

@hawkeye10,
If we could hook up a generator to you the way you are spinning we could shut down at least one major coal power plant.

In any case it is such a non-issue that the Wisconsin Republicans are now passing a new law to punish anyone who would dare to prank call the governor in the future.

That fine and if as a result the government of Wisconsin shut down that is fine also.

@BillRM,
The people of Wisconsin are going to have to decide who is right, because both sides can not be right about what the people want. We have seen Conservatives overreach enough to wonder if they are doing that here, and we have seen libreals clueless about reality often enough to wonder if they are doing that here. It will be interesting watching how this plays out...

Yes and we should allow the Koch brothers of the world to tear and then destroy the middle class for their benefits.

But you are right the money is flowing and the petitions are being sign so in 60 days at the outside this will come to a head.

Could be sooner if the government of Wisconsin can not longer pay any of it bills or keep it bond ratings as a result before the new elections are held.

This is a bridge too far for the the super rich and their GOP lapdogs is my guess.

You're out of your damn mind. This has been one of the top stories in both the political and regular news sites since the day it happened. And I don't know who you are taking your opinion that he 'says the same things in private that he does in public' from; but I've read those exact words on MANY right-wing sites discussing this issue. Which is probably exactly where you are getting your data from on this one.

Because we have seen so much willingness from Americans to take on the Corporate class over the last 30 years right??? The Corporate Class start yelling Class War! Class War! and most of us go running and hide under our beds. Between the playing up the fear of the citizens and corrupting Government with their money the Corporate Class has had almost no resistance to deal with. And dont bother claiming that Unions have stood up for what it right either, because for the most part they have only been looking out for money that might land in their pockets.

Are things different now? Maybe, but I need to see it before I believe it.

You had not taken notice that when the GOP overreach they are thrown out of power for a time as a result?

The only thing is that the public sadly had too short of a memory however this is too open not to get the kind of a reaction to it is getting now.

The really funny thing is that on one hand, Hawk points out that the real problem is with Corporations and the way they manipulate our society and politics for profit. But on the other hand, he cheers them on in WI!

He never admits that he's on the side of the people he blames for the decline of America over the last few decades.

I am not cheering, I am speaking truth about how things are....without going on and on about how I dont like it. I also believe in "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer". I have a lot of agreement with conservative americans on social and spiritual issues, but not when it comes to ecomomics or protecting our class system.

How about when the Dems were thrown out in 94 and 08 for the same reason?? Your memory is very selective.
