@Ionus,
Come on Io. The arms industry will be giving each other pats on the back at least. How could you think otherwise when expensive kit is being rendered in need of replacement.

@cicerone imposter,
Were there any pretty bombing patterns like in Catch 22?

@spendius,
Wait for the Europeans to do something ??? These are the same people that spend less on their defence during the Cold War tthen the USA spent on defending them ? The French held back their troops in NATO for a "Strategic Reserve"...more likely to surrender at the first opportunity without getting hurt . They had a Nuclear force to counter the British, not the Russians . The Italians wanted to stay home, eat fine food and make babies, the Dutch wanted to smoke drugs, grow long hair and be homosexual . When they can agree on a common currency they have a long ladder to climb before they can agree on war .

I have very little respect for the Europeans being able to agree on the size of the debating table and which wine to have with lunch (all expenses paid, of course) .

@spendius,
So it is not about saving Libyan lives, it is about NOT supporting the arms industry, regardless of the cost in human lives ?

Some of the defence "experts" are positively drooling and slavering.

@spendius,
spendi, You lack knowledge about the logic of catch 22, therefore, you ask silly, unrelated, questions.

And if you had of read the book, or even seen the movie, you would have made the connection . Just because you "dont get it" doesnt mean it doesnt exist .

@Ionus,
The movie was a very pale reflection of the book as are all movies based on works of art.

@reasoning logic,
is the Australian Broadcast News a reliable source? serious question as I have no knowledge on which to make a judgment.

@dyslexia,
To be honest I do not know that is why I have others as yourself to confirm such matters!

You've made the big mistake of thinking that he can think, Spendi. He's nothing but a dumb grunt that has been sucking uppers for as long as he has been an adult. You just can't rehabilitate a mind that wasted.

Yes it is, dys.
The ABC news is reliable & accurate as a rule.
It's the official Oz national public broadcaster. (Not commercial)

@reasoning logic,
Italy says it will participate in air offensive in Libya. I think that is significant given how much of Italy's oil comes from there.
