Our PM is on a tour of the ME with a crowd of arms and riot control equipment salesmen.

A very opportune moment it is to0.

@msolga,
Significant, I think, the growing numbers of defection of Libyian government official representatives abroad, over the last few days & the public statements they've made about their reasons for defecting. There were also a reports yesterday of the Libyan ambassador to India's defection.
Also the first report of army defections, mentioned in this report from the Chicago Tribune....
Within Libya itself, how long will the foreign mercenaries in the military remain loyal to Gaddafi's regime?

Quote:
...It also reported the first major sign of discontent in Gadhafi's government, saying Justice Minister Mustafa Abdel-Jalil resigned to protest the "excessive use of force" against unarmed demonstrators.

There were reports of ambassadors abroad defecting. Libya's former ambassador to the Arab League in Cairo, Abdel-Moneim al-Houni, who resigned his post Sunday to side with protesters, demanded Gadhafi and his commanders and aides be put on trial for "the mass killings in Libya."

"Gadhafi's regime is now in the trash of history because he betrayed his nation and his people," al-Houni said in a statement.

A Libyan diplomat in China, Hussein el-Sadek el-Mesrati, told Al-Jazeera, "I resigned from representing the government of Mussolini and Hitler."

Two Mirage warplanes from the Libyan air force fled a Tripoli air base and landed on the nearby island of Malta, and their pilots — two colonels — asked for political asylum, Maltese military officials said. ....

Gadhafi's grip on Libya loosens as officials resign, air force pilots defect, capital seethes:

@failures art,
Art -
There are a lot of people saying that the US should keep our nose out of it.

So, for some of us, though I can't speak for George - hearing the suggestion that the US might be remiss because we're standing back an allowing MEsterners to handle their own shite - is a wee bit rankling.

Surely you can understand.

@failures art,
Well, Ms Olga thinks comments by other world leaders are "irrelevant" and she is obviously a foremost authority on the current situation in the ME.

Just ask her.

@Lash,
Lash, I agree! We're not the world's police or military. We can't possibly fight everybody else's wars and politics; it's simply impossible.

Just because someone marked their little boy up doesn't mean it will work for a granite cranium. You have to get the language in there, that's what they mark up. Will you be kissing any arse today or disagreeing with everyone as usual ? Its obvious you dont have your own opinion as you constantly snipe at others. Are these subjects too complicated for dwuggies widdle bwain ??

GIT

1. A completely ignorant, childish person with no manners.
2. A person who feels justified in their callow behaviour.
3. A pubescent kid who thinks it's totally cool to act like a moron on the internet, only because no one can actually reach through the screen and punch their lights out.

seems to be some transference there...

@Irishk,
That's a good beginning. We need to see 100% suspension of "everything" for Gaddafi.

And if it works we could try that approach with North Korea....****, the West needs Libyan crude, scratch that...can't have them throwing in with China or India.

The naivete and superiority complexes of the liberals are stunning at times.

But that is a practical distinction you didn't make in your absurd abstract statement. You told me, when I asked, that such details are not relevant to the main issue.

How does this need explanation? How would the US, or the UN, or any other body be considered anything but the third party? I'm calling from some sort of response. Are you so dense that you need me to clarify that the silence I'm worried about is that from outside of Libya? This distinction was very clear in my post. However, I'm not surprised Hawk's twisted logic appeals to you.

I saw the Clinton email. I'm unimpressed. It should have been more. I think this kind of thing warrants a public appearance, not an email.
