The only way I'll flavor my coffee is with liqeur.
Frangelico, Contreau, I'll even stoop so low as to accept Bailey's
But no flavored syrups or oils . . .

@margo,
:slurp:

Flvored coffee reminds me of an ex. She liked Frangelico in evening coffee and in the daily coffeee, she liked hazelnut. Hazelnut makes me want to argue and head to Timbuktu.

Every day fave: Dunkin Donuts (Columbian) .mmmmmm...consistant as the sunshine here in Sarasota. Ooops it's pouring out.

For company: Jamaican (Blue Mountain), Mahn ...on sale

I like my coffee like I like my men.

Dark black and strong,... with two packets of Splenda sprinkled on them.

it's cooking terminology

Quote:
The term French vanilla is often used to designate preparations that have a strong vanilla aroma, and contain vanilla grains.

The name originates from the French style of making ice cream custard base with vanilla pods, cream, and egg yolks.

Inclusion of vanilla varietals from any of the former or current French dependencies noted for their exports may in fact be a part of the flavoring, though it may often be coincidental.

Alternatively, French vanilla is taken to refer to a vanilla-custard flavor.[15] Syrup labeled as French vanilla may include custard, caramel or butterscotch flavors in addition to vanilla.

Postum was a powdered roasted grain beverage sold by the Kraft Foods company as a coffee substitute. The caffeine-free beverage mix was created by Postum Cereal Company founder C. W. Post in 1895 and produced and marketed by Postum Cereal Company as a healthful alternative to coffee. (The Postum Cereal Company eventually became General Foods which was bought by Kraft Foods.) Post was a student of Dr. John Harvey Kellogg who believed caffeine to be unhealthy. Postum was made from wheat bran, wheat, molasses, and maltodextrin from corn. It was discontinued in 2007

@dyslexia,
I've had some of this in my cupboard for about 10 years now. I should probably toss it, eh?

ahhh
yes
John.
He thought a lot of things were un healthy, and oddly enough..he was correct on almost all
except the electrocution to testicles , sex being a bad effect on the body
yogurt in the butt and a few other things..

postum was probably discontinued because of the amount of MSG it had. ?
or lack of sales i guess.
interesting.

I'm with the all-black crowd. Nothing added to the coffee beans except piping hot water. Not even tofu. Of course, that means I have to buy really good coffee.

I need to amend my statement. I do add something to my coffee on occasion. The ONLY thing I put in otherwise perfectly good coffee is chocolate.

So, my credit card company sent me a letter which said if I didn't spend some of the umpty-ump points I have I would lose them.
So, for about 20,000 points, I bought a HUGE espressomaker. (Yes. That is one word.)
When Alias and Thomas get here on Saturday, I shall make them some cappuccinos.
I bought some Dark French Roast ......
