Basket
im terrible with probabilities....but lets see
she has to make the first one and miss the second
so P(making 1st)*P(missing 2nd)=(3/4)(1-3/4)=3/16....right?

thoh I am really glad you are okay and wasn't one of the shooting victims.

Try,
I don't know the basketball one and the race one I can only guess at because I don't know a formula to use. My best guess is more than 10 and less than 15.

Thanks Stormwatch about the vacation remark Very Happy
...........and the second one did take me awhile.

I have been asked by the person you know as Try Again to send apologies for his absence, which is due to stronger resistance than expected to his plans.

Once again I fail to return with the Holy Grail! I would also like to say how much I missed you guys……………but I can't tell a lie! Laughing

As soon as I can find the guy who has changed the passwords, I will confirm any answers. I have a sack load of puzzles from the Silk Road to test the most agile mind; oh, and some for Lzzie too! :wink:

Special thank you to Lzzie and TTH for noting my absence with kind words. Cool

Cute Try guy, I could find a function, but it would not have anything to do with f and x or maybe f, oh nevermind Laughing

Part 1) 2x9x19=18x19=342 and......
Part 2) 2x7x47=14x47=658
342+658=1000
That should work and don't ask about the 2x9 & 2x7 instead of starting with 18 and 14 because I don't know. It is just the way my brain works Confused

f(f(x)) = x, but f(x) != x

f(x) = -x works for all x except 0. Sad

for all x <>0 f(x)=1/x so f(f(x))=F(1/x)=x

1000=14*47+18*19
