Word Commonalities.

I am only posting this to my (exceptionally) smart friends on a2k. I could not figure it out and had to look at the answer. If you can figure out what these words have in common, you are a lot smarter than I am. The answer is not that they all have six letters. Smile

Banana

Dresser

Grammar

Potato

Revive

Uneven

Assess

Well, who is the smartest here?

I will venture a guess. Take away the first letter of each word and the rest of the word is spelled the same forward or backward. Probably not the answer Confused
I don't think getting it right makes anyone the smartest one here.

I think it has something to do with the words having palindromes in them.

Banana - anana
Grammar - rammar
Potato - otato
Revive - evive
Uneven - neven
Assess - ssess

TehMeh and TTH, you are both very smart. Laughing

Answer: In all of the words listed, if you take the first letter, place it at the end of the word, and ten spell the word backwards, it will be the same word.

CABLE TV

[size=7]Since they are priced independently, I assume they can be purchased independently. In that case, they can be dealt with independently and identically.

If the price of a channel is P (0 < P < 1), then (1-P) of the people will purchase it.

Therefore, we need to maximize P*(1-P), which means P = 0.5.
The expected revenue will be $0.25 per channel.

Here is one for you guys & gals to try:

Someone made a historic speech that is one sentence. In this sentence he left out one word. By leaving out this word, his quote is said to be contradictory. Who was this "someone" and what was the word he left out?

Hint: the #11 can lead you to the answer.

If you find the answer by google or some other search engine please include that information. I have not searched for the answer to see if it can be found this way.

I'm back and bearing gifts; except for the gift's part!

I was asked, "What is the difference between an American and a Canadian". Well, an American is a person who isn't afraid to criticize the president, but is always polite to traffic cops.

I must say it was sweet for you two babes to notice my absence yesterday... Was a time I could take a hit and still get out to play pool in the evening. Now, it takes 24 hours - not like that in the movies!
