I saw that two through five have been posted. Nine is trivial since sqrt(9) = 3, and there is a solution for three. Here's eight:

[sqrt(8^8) - 8*(8+sqrt(8+8))] / sqrt(8+8)

That leaves six and seven (I doubt one is possible).

Here's six:

6! + sqrt(6^6) + (6/6 + 6/6)^6

I got to thinking that maybe sqrt should be illegal since there's an implied 2.

And here's seven:

7!/7 + 7*(7*7-7) - (7+7)

I think we're done.

I think Try is dissing us. Aloha mismi40!!! (in Hawaii the natives don't think I am a "haole". My sister used to live there and tourists would ask me for directions Laughing Laughing Laughing)

{[Hyperfactorial (1+1) +1]*(1+1)}^(1+1+1) = 1000

I'm beginning to wonder about eight zeroes.

"Old professors never die, they just lose their faculties!"

Also using the above directions but this time allowed to only use: 1,9,9,9 in this order only, how would I get the answer for: 6 and 9 Question

Ex: "1 = 1 * (9 ^ (1/2)) * (9 ^ (1/2)) / 9"

I can see that TTH...what does "haole" mean? I think you would fit in great in Hawaii!

And I see our friend is back...much missed apparently - I'm always sorry when I express fondness for him...I always seem to be sorry for it later! Laughing Razz :wink:

Love you'll find away.

Furthermore given markr's concern about sqrt:

1000= {6! / [6*(6+6)]}^ [(6*6)/(6+6)]

1000= Double factorial ie. [9!!+ (9*9)] -9-9-9+[9/9]

Tryagain 8 enough 1 way and another enough without trying Catalan or primorial 8's.

Consider yourself welcomed home fated feted fetid Tryagain.

Are you good at math? Complete the last two in this sequence*

(* For the benefit of those with a taste for caffeine + the Predicate Calculus: In mathematics, a sequence is an ordered list of objects (or events). Like a set, it contains members (also called elements or terms), and the number of terms (possibly infinite) is called the length of the sequence. Unlike a set, order matters, and the exact same elements can appear multiple times at different positions in the sequence.)

1=3, 2=3, 3=5, 4=4, 5=4, 6=3, 7=5, 8=5, 9=4, 10=3, 11= Question 12= Question
