That looks too neat to be true; let me check:


10 workers can do a job in 5 working days,
=> 1 worker does (1/10)/5 = 1/50 of the job per day.

1/50 * 10 * 1 = 1/5 (job completed on 1st day)
1- 1/5 = 4/5 (job left)
1/50 * 3 * (x+10) = 4/5
(3x+30)/50 = 4/5
multiply by 50 on both sides,
3x + 30 = 40
x = 10/3 = 3.33....

So the management should hire at least 4 more workers to complete the job. So Mark was right all along.
