Try was driving his 1913 Ford Model T Thuckster flat out at 35mph. 15 min later, Pearly driving a Pontiac GTO RamAir 6 Concept at 50mph; however Pearly had to stop and change a flat and was delayed for 30 for minutes.

How long does it take for Pearly to catch up with speedy Try Question

One day after all ten office workers began the task; management determines that the job needs to be completed in no more than 3 more days.

Good morning to all those of you who had a lie in; I have been up trying to install Office 2007 on all the computers, so all I have to do is find where the heck all my old files have gone.

Hold up! What the hell has been going on? The PM box is full to overflowing; I don't have time just now, but will get round later, after I sort the other problem out.

Mark:

WORKERS
4*10 = 3*(10+N)
N = 40/3 - 10
hire 4 workers and finish a bit early Cool

That looks too neat to be true; let me check:

10 workers can do a job in 5 working days,
=> 1 worker does (1/10)/5 = 1/50 of the job per day.

1/50 * 10 * 1 = 1/5 (job completed on 1st day)
1- 1/5 = 4/5 (job left)
1/50 * 3 * (x+10) = 4/5
(3x+30)/50 = 4/5
multiply by 50 on both sides,
3x + 30 = 40
x = 10/3 = 3.33....

So the management should hire at least 4 more workers to complete the job. So Mark was right all along. Razz

TTH: DKI = mixed up kid Cool

Say no more. Laughing

While I search for the files; check this out…

8, 6, 3, 12, 4, 2

Which number below would best go with the list of numbers above Question

9, 18, 24, 7, 16, 64
