Dear sweet PJ think nothing of it, just have some sympathy for the injured littering the track of this freeking train wreck. The fallout is worse than the Three Mile Island accident.

Yes, my hearing is ULTRA sensitive.

I'm taking a 2 1/2 week leave of absence (pre-approved by Try, of course). If I run into a connected computer, I'll check in. Maybe etc will be using plain English by the time I get back, but I'm not holding my breath. :wink:

Mark invested $5000 for one year, part at 9% annual interest and the rest at 12% annual interest. The interest from the investment at 9% was $198 more than the interest from the investment at 12%.

(x * 0.09) -198 = (5000-x) * 0.12
0.09x - 198 = 600 - 0.12x
0.21x = 798
x = 3,800

Mark invested $3,800 at 9% interest rate.
