Mark:

FARMER BOB
My spreadsheet tells me approximately $16.72/acre. Cool Cool

He needs to find a cheap replacement for Steadfast. Cool

(Please note dear reader; Mark writes, "approximately". That guy is a hoot.) Laughing

Steadfast $17 * ¾ oz = $12.75 per acre
Banvel $67 * 3 oz / 128 (oz per gallon) = $1.57 per acre
Atrazine $14 * 6.4 oz / 128 (oz per gallon) = $0.70 per acre
Crop Oil $12 * 5 gallons / 50 (acres per tank) = $1.20 per acre
AMS $0.25 * 2 = $0.50 per acre

Total = $12.75 + $1.57 + $0.70 + $1.20 + $0.50 = $16.72

Is there anyone who can come up with a question that Mark cannot answer?
Does such a question exist?
What came first; the question or the answer?
Did the answer exist before the question was asked?

Please send your answers on a postcard C/o Shari.

On my algebra test yesterday, I had seven times as many correct answers as incorrect ones.
There were 120 items on the test, how many did I get right Question

Last weekend, I went to the nearby park. It was real fun! I rode my new bicycle that Mom had gifted me for my birthday. On reaching the park, I saw that there were a total of 17 bicycles and tricycles.

If the total number of wheels was 43, how many tricycles were there Question

ALGEBRA
105 Cool

x = # of incorrect answers
7x = # of correct answers
120 = 8x
x = 15 incorrect
7*15 = 105 correct

TRICYCLES
9 Cool

Assuming 2 wheels for each cycle, 17 cycles will have 34 wheels. But, there are 43-34=9 extra wheels. As bicycles have 2 wheels and tricycles have 3 wheels, there is 1 extra wheel per tricycle in the park. Thus, the 9 extra wheels belong to 9 tricycles.

Mark having completed the easy questions, leaves the difficult ones to;

Shari:

Mark in luck? Razz
Shari in heaven? Razz

No question about it. Laughing

Just as I was wondering where my dad was, wham! Popa4547 appears. Very Happy Welcome to the forum Pop, your reply:

"The question is What is the question. the answer is what is the question, its a never ending circle. now, as the riddle says, there is a part unknown. the answer to the entire riddle is, the answer to the question is the question, while the answer to the riddle is Pi"

Is without a doubt unique, and will stand as a beacon of light in the darkness of ignorance. Mr. Green

Dadpad adds, "42 as we all know is the answer, but what is the question?"

I thought Shari had it nailed with, "????"

It's the classic; Put four fork handles against the wall, and then ask someone to take their ?'pick'. Laughing

Ewoks, being the intelligent creatures that they are, have devised a metric time system that is superior to the standard time system. The Ewoks decided that one Ewok minute should equal to 10 seconds (10 seconds of the old time standard). The remaining Ewok time units are defined as follows:

An Ewok hour is 10 Ewok minutes.
An Ewok day is 10 Ewok hours.
An Ewok week is 10 Ewok days.
An Ewok year is 10 Ewok weeks.

If you meet an Ewok who is 32349 Ewok years old, how old is the Ewok in standard years, to the nearest tenth of a year Question

In this problem, you may assume that a standard year is equal to 365 standard days.

Shari: Part of the reason these are sometimes difficult is that Try bends the rules a bit. For example, he probably meant "never ending story," but it reads as "never endg in story."

I didn't realize my importance was dependent on somebody dying. :wink:

Mark:

EWOKS
102.578 Cool

To solve this problem, there are 31536000 seconds in a standard year (60 *60 * 24 * 365). Therefore, if a metric minute consists of 10 standard seconds, there are 315360 metric minutes in a standard year.
Continue following the same logic:

3153600 Ewok minutes = 1 year
315360 Ewok hours = 1 year
31536 Ewok days = 1 year
3153.6 Ewok weeks = 1 year
315.36 Ewok years = 1 year
Thus 32349 Ewok years = 102.6 standard years.

May the force be with you. Laughing

The management have not drawn my attention to a complaint received from Mark who writes, "Part of the reason these are sometimes difficult is that Try bends the rules a bit" Rolling Eyes

I take great exception to this assertion. I do NOT bend the rules; I make them up as I go along!!! Twisted Evil

"For example, he probably meant "never ending story," but it reads as "never endg in story."

That's the whole point. NEVEREND(in)G STORY = pure genius, even if I say so myself, and I do have to say it myself as no one else would tell such a lie. Embarrassed

Mark, "I didn't realize my importance was dependent on somebody dying."

Isaac and Albert were excitedly describing the result of the Third Annual International Science Fair Extravaganza in Sweden. There were three contestants: Louis, Rene, and Johannes. Isaac reported that Louis
won the fair, while Rene came in second. Albert, on the other hand, reported that Johannes won the fair, while Louis came in second. In fact, neither Isaac nor Albert had given a correct report of the results of the
science fair. Each of them had given one correct statement and one false statement.

What was the actual placing of the three contestants Question

At a family reunion were the following people: one grandfather, one grandmother, two fathers, two mothers, four children, three grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, two sons, two daughters, one father-in-law, one mother-in-law, and one daughter-in-law. However, not as many people attended as it sounds.

How many were there, and who were they Question
