WATCH
no change (guess) Shocked

"Guess"! My dear Sir, this is a haven of mathematical and scientific exactitude. I guess you never met Albert.

According to Einstein's General Relativity, time is slower in a larger gravitational field. In the mountains, you are farther from the centre of the earth than normal, so gravity is less. Therefore, your clock should run a bit faster, but probably not detectable to human observation.

EGG
heat/cool the water as appropriate (think Galileo thermometer) Cool

Yes, that might work, or you could float a raw egg by putting salt in the water until the density of the water = that of the egg.

ICE CUBE
stays the same - the ice cube displaces its weight in water, so does the water it eventually turns into, and they weigh the same Cool

The water level neither rises nor falls: it stays the same. The reason an ice cube floats is because its volume has expanded during crystallisation.

JOKER
$11.25 Cool

RABBIT
45 Cool

Ralph:
(What is it with you and water?) Laughing

Casino: (Joker)
(x-5)(2)-(10)(2)-(5)=0
x=$11.25 Cool

Nice answer. Razz

run rabbit run: it will take rover 135m to catch up with bugs. poor rabbit!

(If three times 45 equal 135, you are a winner) Cool

Please note; No fluffy little bunny wabbits were injured during the construction of this question.

A cage with a bird in it is perched on a swing weighs 4lb. Is the weight of the cage less if the bird is flying about the cage instead of sitting on the swing Question

Ignoring the fact that if left in an airtight box for long the bird would die, would the answer be different if an airtight box were substituted for the cage Question

You wanted to sail your model sailboat today. But there is no wind at all and your boat is in the doldrums. Would it be possible to propel your boat by mounting a battery-operated fan on the rear of the boat and directing the fan to blow wind into the sails Question

Imagine two bridges that are exactly alike, except that every dimension of one is twice as large as the other. For example, the large bridge is two times longer; its structural members are two times thicker, and so forth.

Which bridge is stronger Question
Or is their strength the same Question

Bird in the hand??? If tweety is in the cage flappin his wings, it will create the same pressure of down force = to his weight. The weight of the cage wether tweety flaps his wings or sits will remain the same.

Tweety in a vacuumn: in theory there would be a difference. Just don't ask me why.

I am sorry you have crossed the Rubicon. I will have to report the matter to Al. Arrow

SWAG: The pack or bundle containing the personal belongings of an Australia swagman. Shocked

For the life of me, I can see no connection to:

WAG: Wellsville, Addison, and Galeton (Railroad Corporation) Confused

BTW Mark, may I respectfully suggest a review of your speed may be beneficial. As a much quicker number from me may cause distress. :wink:

Chief Greg Henry and fire fighters Chuck, Darren, Jim, and Vanessa drove the trucks from District 57, responding to a multiple alarm fire from a2k towers. The driver and crew of each truck worked to extinguish the blaze.

Truck 57-1 pumps 750 gallons of water per minute.
Truck 57-2 pumps 1,000 gallons of water per minute.
Truck 57-3 pumps 1,250 gallons of water per minute.
Truck 57-4 pumps 1,500 gallons of water per minute.
Truck 57-5 pumps 1,750 gallons of water per minute.

• Vanessa and her crew pumped 45,000 gallons of water on the fire in a half-hour.

• Chief Greg and his crew worked for 45 minutes, pumping more water than Vanessa's crew but less than Jim's crew did in an hour.

• Chuck and his team pumped the same amount of water as Vanessa's crew in the same amount of time as Jim's crew.

• Darren's crew worked for 45 minutes and pumped the most water on the flames.

Who drove each truck Question

How much water did each crew use to douse the fire Question

"BTW Mark, may I respectfully suggest a review of your speed may be beneficial. As a much quicker number from me may cause distress."

In two seconds, Mark will be 80m past the cop.
Mark's distance function is 80+40t
The cop's distance function is 1.5t^2
The cop will catch Mark when 1.5t^2 = 80+40t
1.5t^2 - 40t - 80 = 0
Using the quadratic formula:
t = [40 +/- sqrt(1600 + 480)] / 3
t = [40 +/- sqrt(2080)] / 3
Since sqrt(2080) > 40
t = [40 + sqrt(2080)] / 3 = 28.53567

I stand by my answer.
