"I am sure he will have his own ‘unique’ solution, which will be different to your unique solution."

Would you like to make a wager? Let's make it meaningful - how about we wager all of our NeoPoints? Shocked

<big gasp from the Lenny Conundrum topic> "Oh, my! Are they allowed to do that? He must really be sure of himself. Maybe he doesn't have a small pee-pee after all. PJ is sure to be impressed."

WHAT THE X?
-7 or 5

x = [-b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)] / 2a

Do you mean-

(1)x*x + (2)x + (-35) = 0
a = 1
b = 2
c = -35
(-b +/- d)/2a
d*d = b*b - 4ac
x = -5, 7

No, I mean -7, 5 (plug them in).

I must admit that I made the same assumption prior to our e-mail exchanges. Must be a male thing (assuming that Try is also male).

COLORED NOPETS
No. Each meeting leaves two colors the same relative to each other. The other color grows by three relative to each of the others. Since they start out separate by 2 (2 mod 3) and 4 (1 mod 3), adding or subtracting three will never make two of them equal.

LEFT GROUPS
5 * 24 / 2 = 60
(39 - 35) * 15 = 60
35 + 46 - 21 = 60

MIDDLE GROUPS
30 * 1 ^ 3 = 30
20 * 24 / 16 = 30
25 + 43 - 38 = 30

RIGHT GROUPS
(10 + 26) / 6 = 6
18 / (26 - 23) = 6
36 ^ (23 / 46) = 6

Are you Joe King?

Europe and most other countries in the world use a voltage which is twice that of the US. It is between 220 and 240 volts, whereas in Japan and in most of the Americas the voltage is between 100 and 127 volts. When the German company AEG built the first European generating facility, its engineers decided to fix the frequency at 50 Hz.
So I am not about to plug anything in, as I don't want to fry. Crying or Very sad

Whim back from her holidays writes, "Mark is right his solution is correct and is unique." Shocked Shocked

That is just what I was about to say. Laughing

She goes on, "BTW. Why do you assume Whim is a he, Try?"

I am only going on what Mark said about you being a miner at a deep layer bratwurst mine in Bavaria. If he was yanking my chain, please post your photo and I will give the matter my full attention. Razz

Short on time, due to packing:

In a "seven-eleven" (7-11) store, a customer selected four items to buy. The check-out clerk says that he multiplied the costs of the items and obtained exactly 7.11, the very name of the store! The customer calmly tells the clerk that the costs of the items should be added, not multiplied. The clerk then informs the customer that the correct total is also $7.11.

What are the exact costs of the 4 items Question

Let us not forget:

WHIM descriptors Cool

Molecular descriptors obtained as statistical indices of the atoms projected onto the 3 principal components obtained from weighted covariance matrices of the atomic coordinates.

L1v 1st component size directional WHIM index / weighted by atomic van der Waals volumes

L2v 2nd component size directional WHIM index / weighted by atomic van der Waals volumes

L3v 3rd component size directional WHIM index / weighted by atomic van der Waals volumes

Time to watch those calories methinks. :wink:

River width
The Ferries / river

The river is 1760 yards wide

Let the width of the river be x
The distances travelled by the 'right' ferry are x - 720 (first part) and 2x - 400 (total). The distances travelled by the 'left' ferry are 720 and x + 400. We now know that x - 720 : 720 = 2x - 400 : x + 400, or
(x - 720) / 720 = (2x - 400) / (x + 400)
x^2 - 320x - 288000 = 1440x - 288000
x^2 - 1760x = 0
x(x - 1760) = 0
x = 0 or x = 1760

Since 0 doesn't make sense, the width of the river is 1760 yards

And hello everyone! Been lurking a while and this seems to be the first time I've come up with an answer before any of the smart people :wink: Guess you're al busy Laughing Let's hope it is a correct one!
