If no operator are allowed, I'd say 9^(9^9). When written by hand there are no operators in the preceding expression.

If operators are allowed, how about 9!^(9!^9!)?

Perhaps you're after the number of squares in a 10x10 grid. In that case, there are 385.

On second thought, the factorial operator should not be allowed. Otherwise, there is no limit to the size of the number - just keep taking factorials of factorials...

Rap:

I'm pretty sure that exponents are evaluated top to bottom. Otherwise, a^b^c = a^(bc).

Therefore, 9^9^9 = 9^(9^9) = 9^387420489
which is a 369693100-digit number.

Since 9^9^9 is an integer I can take it's factoral
(9^9^9)!

Now that is a biiiiiigggg number. (Very true)

(Well 999 is the logical answer - incorrect though, we can go bigger.

Did you get the "power" brainwave and think of 99^9 (99 to the power of 9), which calculates out as 99*99*99*99*99*99*99*99*99.

Even better is 9^99 (9 to the power of 99) which calculates out as 9*9*9*9*9*9*9 ... and so on 99 times.

The correct answer, however, if you extend the idea even further ends up as... 9^9^9 (9 to the 9th power of 9).

Work out the second and third powers first (9*9*9*9*9*9*9*9*9 = 387420489.) We can therefore restate the sum as 9^387420489 which works out as.... very very big indeed.)

Also Amy is really slow.

I can push by 22 incher at least three times faster and I cut my grass in the nude.

You have a wife who always lies. She has two identical sisters, one of which always speaks the truth, and one who sometimes lies and sometimes
tells the truth, she is the diplomatic one.

You want to identify you wife by asking the each one one question.

The middle wife you ask: which type are you?
She answers: the diplomatic one.
The one on the left you ask: Which type is right next to you?
And the left one says: the lying one.

What question do you need to ask the woman on the right to find out for sure which is your wife?

And why?

Let us label the three A, B, and C. We shall designate a liar with the letter L, a truth-teller with T, and the one who tells both lies and truth with S. There are only 6 permutations of the letters L,T, and S. Arrange them thus:
…A B C
1:T L S
2:T S L
3:L S T
4:L T S
5:S T L
6:S L T

We are looking for ?'L'.
The middle one says she is the diplomatic one. (She cannot be 4/5 (T) which leaves:)

…A B C
1:T L S
2:T S L
3:L S T
6:S L T

The one on the LEFT says, "The middle is the lying one" (This eliminates number 2. which leaves:)

…A B C
1:T L S
3:L S T
6:S L T

What question do you need to ask the woman on the right to find out for sure which is your wife?

"Which of the other two always tells the truth?"

?'T' must say, Neither (This eliminates 3/6)

1:T L S

Your wife (L) is in the middle, and you are welcome to her. I do not want her mowing my lawn)

I also got it down to three. However, your last question doesn't do the job.

1: S could give any answer (including neither)
3: T says neither
6: T says neither

If the answer is neither, you can't eliminate anything.

6273*66%=4140

so x=sqrt(4/25)=2/5 and 2/5=40%

Building blocks
Any U has a perimeter of 22 block sides. A block is 176in^2/11=16in^2. So a block is a 4 in square. A side is 4 in. 22 sides is 88 in.
So any U has a perimerimeter of 88 in

BARBERS

Obviously no one expects the precise number of barbers in Chicago; they want to hear you go through a line of thinking. The variables you'll want to consider are the population of Chicago and the percentage that's male; the number of haircuts the average male has per year divided by the number of days in the year, taking into account the number of days per year barbershops are open; and the number of haircuts an average barber can give per day. By the way, there are 550 barber shops in Chicago, and roughly 4,140 barbers. (Not that they are all ?'rough') But Mark knew that. Laughing
