hey, tryagain, I have been looking through this thread at all riddles, gotta to love them.

Anyway the answer to your brown and sticky, my first thought was toffee, but nah it is a stick. Too many jokes about that one.

Your answer

It has one stem, nine branches
Nine flowers and nine fruits
Yet change it does not with the seasons
But with the year like, "Poof!"

Nice try Razz as biology told me, no such a plant can have flowers/fruit all year round during seasons, and the clue is "poof" year, which gives me the answer 1,9,9,9, tada the answer is year 1999 Smile keep them coming mate.

I will skip the maths ones Razz

We can get married, live in my mother's castle, you can have my children, wash my clothes, and fix my meals. In the Middle Ages a monk by the name of Mac Huxley chiseled this puzzle in the garden walls of the monastery. Every number consist of four different Roman letters and at least one of each of the seven roman digits (MDCLXVI) was used in this puzzle.

Code: IV III II I
IV [ ][ ][ ][ ]
III [ ][ ][ ][ ]
II [ ][ ][ ][ ]
I [ ][ ][ ][ ]

Clues:

H(orizontal)
IV => multiple of HII
III => Birth year of the monk
II => Has the same digits as HI
I => Square

V(ertical)
IV => VI + VII is VII / VI
III => HI + II = VII
II => Multiple of VII
I => Differs from HIII by CC

When was the monk born?

nice to know that yitwall and I posted at same time Razz

Though my answer to

"What do you throw out when you want to use it, but take in when you don't want to use it?"

Is anchor.

BTW, tryagain, if you are referring to the origins of the word Dutch, it would be Deutschland? :p (In Philadelphia, the famous Dutch Amish, which introduced pretzels, are in fact from Germany, and in their native tongue, they say Deutschland; German for Germany. The corruption occured here as the Americans say Deutsch.. Dutsch, Dutch Smile and in Dutch we say Deutchland for Germany.)

Whim:

Based only on the horizontal clues, I narrowed it down to these:
Code:DCXC DCCX DCXC CMXX MDCX CMXC MCXC
???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
LXIX LXXI XLVI XLVI XLVI XCIX CXIX
XLIX XLIX LXIV LXIV LXIV CXXI CXXI

But none of these leads to a valid solution to vertical I.
I must have missed something.

Mark, I think you missed at least one possibility.
Also, for instance XLIX has two X's, but each number used have four different digits.
