I don't think it is safe to say that. We do not know that. His children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews? They are all scumbags? The Iceman's family had no clue what he did, absolutely none. His neighbors didn't know either. They thought he was a fine upstanding member of the community.

If you had a relative that murdered someone would that mean your whole family are scumbags?

This is not some isolated serial killer, this is a member of an organized crime family, i.e. God forbid I say the word, the Mafia. His blood family were aware of how he made his living.

Once again, your naivete is appalling

I think it was yesterday,
I answered u at some length
on another thread; I dunno if u saw it or not.

I did see it, but the day I read it, my arm was still really sore and I couldn't type and then a couple of people over there on that thread got all nasty and personal and started calling me names because I disagreed with them and I have no need to subject my good mood to that sort of downer - so I forgot about it- sorry.

I'll go back and look at it again.

What I meant about those guys being in 'The Family' David- is that unless they were genetically related - their parents probably had no idea about what they were doing and why or what happened to them and probably died not knowing what had happened to their sons.

So, if those families had to deal with that sort of sadness and inconvenience - why spare so much thought for the family of the man who brought it all on himself and his family - as well as all the people he took from and their families?

It is expensive. Maybe he should have to pay restitution of all the money he extorted and have his 'FAMILY' pay for his room and board.

I know over here - if someone makes money illegally through drugs or whatever or takes money fraudulently - part of their sentence includes restitution of whatever sum it is they made or took illegally.

Do they do that in the US?
It depends on the circumstances
and in which jurisdiction.

@OmSigDAVID,
I fractured my radial head (the little part of the elbow joint - socket- in which the ball of the joint fits). I was hiking and tripped in a pothole while taking a picture instead of watching where I was going. I went to the fracture clinic yesterday though for an update and it is about 1000 times better than it was and almost back to normal - it took 4-6 days instead of 4-6 weeks to heal...he said that's what good health and nutrition do for a person's body.

Anyway - I was taking another walk with my dog today and I was thinking about restitution and the cost of incarceration and I was thinking how ridiculously unfair it is that this guy is getting his care for free when if you had a person who was a senior citizen who hadn't committed a crime and had to be cared for in and by society - the family would literally have to almost lose their home to pay their nursing home bills - I hope this 'FAMILY' does have to pay restitution.

What are New York's laws concerning this David? I'm sure you know.
