Seriously, I've been reading along to see what other people say in response and I still don't have a clear understanding what "What makes you tick" means. Is it the things that get you up in the morning? The things that inspire you? The things that influence how you react to what you see and hear? All of those? Something else entirely?
Sure, I've heard the phrase before, but I really don't know what it's truly asking.
it's interesting, i don't always associate the question with a positive tone, usually it seems to be asked in a situation where someone has done (or does) something out of the ordinary

As I've read this thread, I've come to the same conclusion. Obviously, ticking means different things to different people, and I'm no longer sure what it means to me.
