Here's how this works. Nominate your favorite tv show for the position of greatest tv show ever. They can be current shows, or old ones. I'll make a poll with the most common nominations.
My nominations...
The Practice
Smallville
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Simpsons
Scrubs
Family Guy
----------Secondary Nominations (will only matter in tie breakers)----------
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Friends
The Shield
Fraiser
Seinfeld
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Simpsons
Fraiser
Star Trek
Beverly Hillbillies
Medical Center
Hill Street Blues
I Love Lucy
Saturday Night Live 1975-1982
Batman
The Monkees
King of the Hill
okay i wil stop now...
)
Come on do we even need a poll? There's no competition.
The Sopranos
The Sopranos
Inside the NFL
Seinfeld
M.A.S.H.
The Daily Show (with Jon Stewart)
Reno 911
Bob Newhart show where he was a shrink
Crossroads
Law & Order SVU
All in the Family- a breakthrough show. Dealt with subjects that were not touched by TV producers in the past.
Seinfeld- Proved that a show about nothing could be absolutely hilarious.
Law & Order- After 13 years, proves that a show on the same subject can remain consistently fascinating. It is a lesson for other producers of "cop" shows, that illustrates that it is the story line that makes a show fresh and interesting.
Law & Order SVU- Same as L&O. It has not been on as long as L&O, but it contains the same elements as the other show.....strong story line, not too much involvement with individual characters (although there IS more of that than on the original L&O, the characters definitely remain in the background.)
MASH
Hill Street Blues
Seinfeld
Cheers
Taxi
All in the Family
God yes, L&O must have been on crack to forget these Wolf show(s)...and yes the Soprano's though my cable is shut off, and the brilliant Six Feet Under.
I hated All in the Family when it first came out cause my Dad watched it, he didn't get the humor, he was a bigger bigot than Archie...so, now in retrospect it was a great show!
MASH
Sienfeld
The Cosby Show
Rosanne
All in the Family
Gunsmoke ( early half hour show)
Have Gun Will Travel
no smallville fans in here!!? blasphemy. it's such an incredible show. the psychological drama behind lex's character is incredible

GETS MY VOTE PHOENIX 100%
Cheers
Seinfeld
Frasier
Soap
The Sopranos. IMO this is the best ever.
All in the Family. The best sitcom.
I have to think about other nominees. I'll be back.
I Love Lucy
The Carol Burnett Show
Saturday Night Live (belushi, ackroyd, radner years)
Dallas
Frasier
Carnivale
NYPD Blue (first three/four seasons)
The Simpsons
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Sopranos
Xena: Warrior Princes. But only the first 2-3 seasons.
Yeah I was thinking about All in the Family as a distant 2nd to the Sopranos. Also up there are, Friends, the Simpsons, and Three's Company.
Most overrated show of all time... Sienfeld.

I only vaguely remember this one, did the viewer ever find out why Patrick Mc Goohan was a prisoner?
