Reply Thu 6 Jan, 2011 03:34 pm
To those that remember me, I finally have time to get back online more often. Kids are growing and I catch more breaks... so I am back to posting again.. after my brief (cough 2-3 year) absence from the boards.

So who is still here that remembers me lol... I never forgot about this place and I am happy to be able to post again!

I wanna here updates on everyone!

@Crazielady420,
Hi, Christine, many of us are still here, kicking and causing trouble.

@Crazielady420,
In the Indian movies '420' refers to the C.I.D. (Criminal Investigation Department) of India to fraud or fraudster. There was a comedy called Shree 420 or Mr. 420 starring Raj Kapoor as fraudster.

@Crazielady420,
Hi, WB Christine. Don't recall you but that's OK. I'm still catching up on family members.

FWIW, here's the 411 on 420 for those who wonder what the derivation of it is/was:

"420, 4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) refers to consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture. The date April 20 is sometimes referred to as "Weed Day" or "Pot Day".

The most popular current belief is that the term was allegedly coined by a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, United States in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana outside the school."

I've been fine, all told, though on any given day I'll complain a lot.

Here's a link to Jespah's thread, A2k 2010 in review. She's done that for several years now, and those probably have similar titles. You can look them up by putting the title in the Google custom search at the top of the page, the white space to the right.

@djjd62,
That was the first place I went to when I came back, to ask a question to hear a question! I was so surprised everyone liked it so much, glad to see it still entertains after all these years!

@jespah,
thanks! I have never heard a song, that I can recall, that has my name in it.... unless you count my grandfather changing 'Goodnight Irene' to Goodnight Christine when I was a child :-)

@Crazielady420,
Well, not all.

One of the best threads ever on here was about Joe Nation's breakup. Very personal and very well written. He has moved on, in health, but it remains one of the best threads (not to knock him over the head with it).

There are a bunch of good threads if you investigate.
Fbaezer talked about the Mexico City earthquake, another memorable thread - sorry, no link.
