When I click on new topic thread and then exit out of the thread it disappears. Then when I go back to find the thread again it's not there. I either have to go to the posters homepage or look it up with the search option. Why?
Are my settings wrong or is this a bug? Does this happen to anyone else? Just curious...
Thanks.

There's a setting.... can't remember where it is.
Cycloptichorn
@Ceili,
yes , happens to me too - and probably all .
i think the system recognizes that you just read the post ... and don't want to - or shouldn't - read it again .
@hamburgboy,
Id like to be the one to make that judgement. I too hve noticed it. I was going to respond to a thread by Wilso (who is apparently leaving) and it just vanished as I left to get a youtube "farewell song"
I just saw this happen, but scrolling down I saw that this thread has been placed in a second list bellow, of threads who didnt receive a new post since you last read then or something.
Topics disappear because you are an evil woman child, and the hamsters don't like Canadians.
@farmerman,
Me too. It's kind of annoying.
I left him a farewell song on another thread... lol
@Setanta,
Ah, that explains a lot. No wonder mine all died. They was allergic to me then..
My Chinchilla's still in the game though, so then I guess some rodents are immune to my Canadian wickedness..
I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about but... is your "Put unread topics above read topics" set to No in your preferences? That should keep everything in date/time order. I'm not sure how that works in the New Topics tab though.
@Ceili,
hmsters are delicious when seared on a stick and covered with Bangkok Padang
@farmerman,
Like a spicy chicken wing no doubt.
@JPB,
No, it's set to yes.
This doesn't happen to you JPB?
@Ceili,
No, and my preference is set to NO
@Ceili,
yep, lotsa dark meat.
Ive become a cooniseur of Guinea pig on a stick whenever Id be working in Chile or Argentina. Its almost a national snack done over a chimenea in the streets.
@JPB,
K, I'll try that. Thanks.
This is the preference you need:
Topic List Preferences
Put unread topics above read topics: NO
@engineer,
Yup, just did it and it has solved the problem. Many thanks to all.
@hamburgboy,
woohaa. Why did this even have to be? I dont even understand the purpose of the preference?
@farmerman,
hush up and go with it.
I bitched about the lack of it forever...
