I suppose I should add, re the game, no fair tracing the source via whatever url someone links to. Part of the fun of this kind of thread is the hunt and the side trips on the hunt..

I like this! (Of course, no clue bout the current painting.) One of Gaugain and Vincent's French contemporaries? Have to look around.

@Lash,
OK, I cheated and googled what I thought was the title...it was. I don't want to spoil for someone who may recognize it...so, me wait.

@Eva,
I agree re the 1400's, for what that's worth, that is, nothing. I'm going to have to look at one of my books harder.

So, George's painting reminds me of Shirley MacLaine in Irma la douce.

To carry the game on, we have failed, failed! to identify George's selection, known to me as the Shirley MacLaine painting.

In the meantime, I'll throw in another. This one will be easy, to make up for my impossible Sienese painting, but I'm adding it anyway -

@ossobuco,
On the pinacoteca, I found a good site, but.. sigh. Several of my photo'd paintings are not therein, including the question photo that I find oddly compelling.
