'Not telling the truth': Former German Chancellor calls George Bush a liar over memoir's claim of Iraq war U-turn

George W. Bush's newly released memoir has caused a backlash from former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder who accused the former President of lying.

...

Mr Schroeder immediately voiced his displeasure with Mr Bush's account of the Oval Office meeting. He confirmed that he told Mr Bush Germany would 'stand reliably on the side of the U.S.', but only on the condition that it was confirmed Iraq was sheltering those responsible for the September 11 attacks.
In a statement to German news agency Deutsche Welle Mr Schroeder said: 'This link, as it became clear during 2002, was false and contrived'.
He added; 'This goes for reasons [for the invasion] given by Bush and [Vice President Dick] Cheney too.'
'As we know today, the Bush administration's reasons for the Iraq war were based on lies', Mr Schroeder said and about Mr Bush's memoir, 'Former American President Bush is not telling the truth'.

655,000 Dead in Iraq since Bush Invasion

...

But the big news is a big new Johns Hopkins study published in The Lancet that suggests that the US misadventure in Iraq is responsible for setting off the killing of twice as many civilians as Saddam managed to polish off in 25 years.

Why is this piece of scum still free? Here he is, writing a book and profiting off the deaths of a million Iraqis, not to mention the untold number of Afghans. There's likely a law in every state preventing felons from profiting
from their crimes and here's this mass murderer selling his wares to the idiots who gave their tax money to make his cronies rich.

Just how stupid is that? What the hell is wrong with Americans?

History is only insulting to those who live off of myths. -- Dagmaraka

Would you miss Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice, and all the other war criminals who have been responsible for the deaths of over a million? At this rate, the USA is set to set new world records for mass murder.

Would you miss the USA's "dirty bombs" that are causing birth defects in Iraqi, Afghan and American children?

Depleted Uranium, George Bush & Tony Blair

Monday, 10 October 2005, 4:18 pm
Opinion: Dr. Doug Rokke Ph.D.

Depleted Uranium Situation Requires Action By President Bush and Prime Minister Blair

Dr. Doug Rokke, Ph.D.

While U.S. and British military personnel continue using uranium munitions- America's and England's own "dirty bombs" U.S. Army, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Defense officials continue to deny that there are any adverse health and environmental effects as a consequence of the manufacture, testing, and/or use of uranium munitions to avoid liability for the willful and illegal dispersal of a radioactive toxic material - depleted uranium.

They arrogantly refuse to comply with their own regulations, orders, and directives that require United States Department of Defense officials to provide prompt and effective medical care "all" exposed individuals [Medical Management of Unusual Depleted Uranium Casualties, DOD, Pentagon, 10/14/93, Medical Management of Army personnel Exposed to Depleted Uranium (DU) Headquarters, U.S. Army Medical Command 29 April 2004), and section 2-5 of AR 70-48].

They also refuse to clean up dispersed radioactive Contamination as required by Army Regulation- AR 700-48: "Management of Equipment Contaminated With Depleted Uranium or Radioactive Commodities" (Headquarters, Department Of The Army, Washington, D.C., September 2002) and U.S. Army Technical Bulletin- TB 9-1300-278: "Guidelines For Safe Response To Handling, Storage, And Transportation Accidents Involving Army Tank Munitions Or Armor Which Contain Depleted Uranium" (Headquarters, Department Of The Army, Washington, D.C., JULY 1996).

Specifically section 2-4 of United States Army Regulation-AR 700-48 dated September 16, 2002 requires that:

(1) "Military personnel "identify, segregate, isolate, secure, and label all RCE" (radiologically contaminated equipment).

(2) "Procedures to minimize the spread of radioactivity will be implemented as soon as possible."

(3) "Radioactive material and waste will not be locally disposed of through burial, submersion, incineration, destruction in place, or abandonment" and

(4) "All equipment, to include captured or combat RCE, will be surveyed, packaged, retrograded, decontaminated and released IAW Technical Bulletin 9-1300-278, DA PAM 700-48"

(Note: Maximum exposure limits are specified in Appendix F).

The past and current use of uranium weapons, the release of radioactive components in destroyed U.S. and foreign military equipment, and releases of industrial, medical, research facility radioactive materials have resulted in unacceptable exposures. Therefore, decontamination must be completed as required by U.S. Army Regulation 700-48 and should include releases of all radioactive materials resulting from military operations.

The extent of adverse health and environmental effects of uranium weapons contamination is not limited to combat zones but includes facilities and sites where uranium weapons were manufactured or tested including Vieques, Puerto Rico, Colonie, New York, and Jefferson Proving Grounds, Indiana. Therefore medical care must be provided by the United States Department of Defense officials to all individuals affected by the manufacturing, testing, and/or use of uranium munitions.

Thorough environmental remediation also must be completed without further delay. I am amazed that fourteen years after I was asked to clean up the initial DU mess from Gulf War 1 and almost ten years since I finished the depleted uranium project that United States Department of Defense officials and mauy others still attempt to justify uranium munitions use while ignoring mandatory requirements.

But beyond the ignored mandatory actions that the willful dispersal of tons of solid radioactive and chemically toxic waste in the form of uranium munitions just does not even pass the common sense test.

Finally continued compliance with the infamous March 1991 Los Alamos Memorandum ( http://www.tv.cbc.ca/national/pgminfo/du/doc1.html ) that was issued to ensure continued use of uranium munitions can not be justified.

In conclusion: the President of the United States- George W. Bush and The Prime Minister of Great Britain-Tony Blair must acknowledge and accept responsibility for willful use of illegal uranium munitions- their own "dirty bombs"- resulting in adverse health and environmental effects. President Bush and Prime Minister Blair also should order:

1. medical care for all casualties,

2. thorough environmental remediation,

3. immediate cessation of retaliation against all of us who demand compliance with medical care and environmental remediation requirements,

4. and ban the future use of depleted uranium munitions.

Would you miss the numerous war crimes that the USA regularly engages in? Would you rather that your kin did not participate in these war crimes?

I thought you were going to keep all this front and center, Punkey. You're doing a miserable job. Are you another one of these big promises, no delivery Americans?

My objection was your war story tirade claiming that our soldiers over in Iraq were/are rapists and murderers. I have found no evidence of that on a large scale.

You asked if we missed Saddam. My answer is no - and that goes for his psychopath sons.

Another thank you from another one of the "oppressed" of the world.

Is there by chance a sort of guestbook kept maybe at the White House, where all the people that the USA has saved write their appreciative comments and sign their names?

And then these folks could write appreciative comments and sign the names of their kin who lie in graves or were blown to smithereens or burned into unrecognizable masses of charred flesh and bone.

That would be a nice lasting tribute to the kindness, warmth and just generally overall good nature of America, the savior of the world's oppressed.

If there isn't, there sure should be. You could place it next to the Vietnam "war memorial". Then a wall could be put up with all the names of the innocent Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians murdered by Americans. I know that it'll be tough finding enough stone for this memorial but hey, think of the propaganda value this could have.

What We Iraqis Want
Sister Meriam from Occupied Iraq - Today's Alternative News

May 18, 2005

We want the Americans to go back home. Iraq is our country, not theirs.
However, the Americans seem to think it is their country. It is not theirs now, nor will it ever be theirs, unless they kill all of us, men, women and children.
We are raising our children to resist this illegal, this immoral, this un-Christian occupation. I am a Christian, my husband is a Muslim, we both want the Americans out. They are causing us nothing but harm, sickness, poverty and lawlessness.

We did not like Saddam Hussein, but at least under him we had clean drinking water, good hospitals, food on the table, safety in the streets and our homes were not attacked day and night by foreign troops. All we have now is misery, poverty, disease and fear. We never know when American troops will raid our homes, steal our jewels and money, rape our women, beat our men and scare our chidren.

I am an educator in Baghdad. The trauma suffered by our children will last for generations. This trauma will also make these children hate the Americans and the British, but the Americans more because we know that George Bush Jr. was behind this rape our country, its schools, it culture and its people.

We will continue fighting back against this occupation, this rape, so long as any of us has a breath or an ounce of blood. We also know our Arab and Muslim and Christian brothers and sisters will come from other lands to help us drive out these devils that dress in the clothes of Americans. We also know that there are many Israelis here, both the Mossad and military advisors, and investors who are trying to steal our oil, our land and our resources. One day, we shall drive them all out, and may God punish these evil-doers. May Jesus Christ himself lead the charge against these devils who call themselves Christians and Jews. My husband prays that all Muslims will come to our aid, and I hope for Christians to stand up in their lands and condemn these devils who wear come to do us great harm.

I hope this letter will awaken some to understand that we do not want the Americans here and we will do all we can to drive them out and we will not rest until they are all gone.

Go home to your wives, your children, to your loved ones, do not stay here to torture and kill us, for us if stay, God will surely punish you and your country and you will lose your limbs, your life and also eventually your souls, your families and you will end us with nightmares and sickness from the Depleted Uranium and your own sense of guilt for having killed Iraqis for the devil himself, George W. Bush — may he be damned unto hell itself and burn eternally.
