backroom deals

Just this morning, watching the telly some political "consultant" said "in this election campaign there have been some backroom deals made." well, needless to say, I was stunned. Backroom deals? What has america come to when there are backroom deals being made? where has this come from? could there be monies being paid under the table, votes traded, shenanigans right under our noses? I was so distraught I turned off the telly and went straight to my bedroom suite where I took, not one, but two spoonfuls of cod liver oil. My faith is shattered, I am now considering suicide instead of voting this coming tuesday.
